    Don't overlook the estwing carpenters hatchet. I have had great luck with it holds a good edge and chops with a lot of force for such a short hatchet

    Just picked up a Husky 394 and am waiting for it to get here. I have browsed the site and have found some stuff just want to know the good and bad of this saw. I would like to run 404 pitch on in hardwood and was looking for max bar length in this situation

    Stihl 050 difficulties

    Try running your chain just a tad looser. Fellow I used to cut wood with ran nothing but hard nosed bars and I never noticed his saw do that but then again his was only an 18" bar so this is just a suggestion.

    056 Magnum II , help with new chain please

    lots of great advice so far but if none of that works try this. Run chain adjuster as far back as it will go then slip bar off chain tension stud and slide it still in the bar grove until bar tail almost touches drive sprocket walk chain onto bar then gently pull bar forward and slip it back...

    stihl ts400 will not crank hot

    Hi all looking for some advice. A fried of mine has a ts400 that cranks and runs fine if started cold however if you start the saw and make so much as a 3 inch cut in .25 inch steel and turn the saw off it will not start back until the saw cools off.     what would you reccomend??

    Full chisel will have a square corner and a sharp point, semi chisel will have a radiused corner and a rounded point full chisel works best in clean green wood, semi chisel is better in dry or dirty wood

    spend your money on a quality saw that being said I would definitely buy from a dealer find a good one with a decent selection of used saws, depending on whats local good bets would be 021, 023,024,025,026 these are stihls, 44, 50, 51 husky all are good models and should do what it sounds like...

    Low Compression on 044...why?

    For a comp tester try the auto parts stores got mine at oreily and it works just fine was only around $30

    .404 bar and chain for a 461 ? 20"24"

    .404 seems fine on my 385. 3/8 seems faster but love the 404 for trees near dirt roads where the bark collects the red dirt dust here in NC. Also good in standing dead hardwoods like locust and anything lightning struck.

    Best Bang for my buck on limbing saw

    Husky 44 if you can find one, poulan 25, or if you like stihls an 009 can usually be had for cheap with a little looking any of these can be found for well under $200.
