    365x-torq vs. 372xp vs. 576xp

The only difference between a 365xt and a 372xt is the transfer port covers on the 365 have a restrictor in them. Remove the covers and grind out the restrictor and you got yourself an inexpensive 372xt now. The displacement is exactly the same between both saws.

    372xp oiler o-ring location?

I just smeared some permatex ultra copper inside the bushing and slid it on the crankshaft. It looked too easy to pinch that o-ring. The screws that hold the oil pump to the crankcase need sealer on the threads too. those holes go all the way through to the inside of the crankcase and will leak...

    An Observation About Using AvGas

I ran 100ll av fuel in my saws all last winter. As alot of people have said, the saws ran a lot richer and had to be adjusted leaner. The idle wasn't very stable either. The power was better than the pump gas we have available here though. This winter I started mixing the 100ll fuel 50-50 with...

Want a bigger carb for your hopped up 372/375?

I'm assuming a guy could use the 372xt filter mount if you wanted to have the hightop filter? Are the choke levers different between the 365xt and 365 specials?

    562XP oiler issue

When I first got my 562, it had a hesitation on acceleration. With a little advice from some fellow members here, I adjusted the fuel pop up spring and lever heighth and haven't had a problem since. This is my go to saw now. I was a liitle dissapointed that I had a problem with a new saw but it...

    Baileys big bore kit

I've never had a problem with ring end gap, but it doesn't hurt to check.

    Baileys big bore kit

There is a pin in the piston ring groove that keeps the ring from rotating. The ring can not rotate or you would eventually catch the end of the ring in a port and shell the engine. If you look at your piston there should be an arrow on the top. This arrow should point to the exhaust port when...

    Mastermind Meets the 562XP

Be prepared for this saw to be extremely loud Randy. I gutted the muffler on my 562 and it is hard on the ears now. Louder than any saw that I've owned. The port outlet is lined right up with the muffler outlet after you remove the baffles and tube. Nice build!

Custom gaskets.....cut by CNC machine used for crafting. Anyone use one?

My mother used to own a scrapbook store and has one of them cricuts. I never thought about using it for gaskets. Great idea! I manage a NAPA store, so gasket material is easy to come by.

    Modifying Strato/X-Torq saws...

About .015 It doesn't take much to make a big difference

    Modifying Strato/X-Torq saws...

No. I had no intentions of changing the squish so I never measured it.

    Modifying Strato/X-Torq saws...

OK, wasn't happy with the saw losing torque. The changes that I made shouldn't have made that much difference torque wise. Got to wondering if the engine was using more fuel now and maybe the carb was maxxed out on adjustment on the auto tune. I dissassembled the carb and raised the lever that...

    Modifying Strato/X-Torq saws...

I didn't do anything to the transfers. I just raised the exhaust port 2-3 degrees to increase my blowdown to 14 degrees. I matched the intake and strato port opening timing and I widened the exhaust to 65%.

    Modifying Strato/X-Torq saws...

I'm not overly impressed yet. It kinda feels like I might of lost a little bit of torque. Like I said though, I haven't run it enough to really let the autotune settle in. It COLD out there. That wind is vicious. I keep ya updated as I cut more with it. I have a new 562xp coming next month...

    Modifying Strato/X-Torq saws...

Here's a video of my 562 that I've matched the strato and intake timing, opened exhaust to 65% and raised the exhaust port 2-3 degrees. It runs pretty good. I was planning on cutting firewood today but it flippin freezing out. I was planning on cutting up a bunch of bigger wood to really let the...

Wouldn't that be going backwards and decreasing blowdown?

    Modifying Strato/X-Torq saws...

That makes sense. So you think if I increase my blowdown by 2 or 3 degrees that it will wake it up. I'll give it a try.

actually you have 45 days to start a case against him. Just do all your communicating through e-bay, so they can track what's happened.

    Modifying Strato/X-Torq saws...

Went out with the 562 today, and downed about 30 elms. Cut up three of them into firewood. I'm impressed with my saw with the new cylinder mods. It actually felt smoother. It started out cutting a little hyper but the autotune brought it back down after a little cutting. This is one thing that I...
