026 Carburetor Rebuild - The Saga Continues

The choke flap is in the air cleaner and can give starting and runnng problems. Make sure it is truly closing on start up or it won't draw up fuel. If the spring is weak it can allow the choke to partially close when running and flood the engine. This may not be your problem but some of your...

    Sachs Dolmar Chainsaws Thread

I passed on a nice 118 last year - now I am wishing I hadn't as it would have rounded out the herd. Just got the smallest one - a Pro Mac 4300. Will post up a pic soon. Al.

    Sachs Dolmar Chainsaws Thread

Here is another old Dolly. Picked up this Mac SP 85 (133 Super) the other day. I have five of these yellow Dolmars now and this one is in really nice condition. The compression is quite extraordinary. Should clean up very nicely. This is the first SP 85 I have seen in the flesh - they are quite...

    Hacked again

Hey, this is great to read about you guys again. I have been out for three weeks. Bought a neat yellow Dolmar and couldn't show it to anyone.:msp_biggrin:

Picked up a old Echo tonight

Nice find Mark. I have a few Echos too and you are right, they are easy to like. I love the Little Champs - 28cc of muscle.:msp_biggrin: If I knowed you like the two cylinders ones I could have sent this anchor to you.:msp_wink:

    Partner s65 question

Lots of variations in these saws. Also to be found are open and closed port clinders and coil variations. One commonality is they are all very good saws and worth keeping.

    This is NOT c.a.d.

Other than decomp, what differences do you mean?

Can you tell me about this 026 from one pic?

Take the drive. Those saws are easy to work on so if all is not well with it you can fix it easy. Common issues include f/w side crank seal and weak choke spring in the filter. Yes, it has an 026 filter cover. If you find an 024 filter underneath put in on the bay as those things are NLA. New...

    Saw haul from an auction

Those little Echo 280E's (Little Champs) are way under rated saws. I have a bunch of them and they are sure fun to use. I have a couple with chain brakes for climbing but don't worry about using yours - they handle really well.

    Stihl 028 problem

Come back Fish, there are lots of people here who think the place is not the same without your wit (& knowledge). Sometimes I feel bad in the stomach about AS too. OP - the old 028's are easy to rebuild and worth it too.

    Little old Echo vs Ironbark

Nice clear vid Wayne. The Oleo has a fair advantage size wise but that little Echo was running sweet.

Any Interest In Revisiting Porting The 550XP?

Randy, that 550 you did for Nick is about the nicest saw I have ever run. It handles Oz hardwood better than anything else in that class I have ever seen. Go to it.

    Husky bar on 3002 mount?

Matt, that's refined Victorian redneck engineering. Reckon a croweater would have used his arc welder cranked up and blown a larger slot.:hmm3grin2orange:

    Husky bar on 3002 mount?

Ever wanted to use a Husqvarna bar on your big stihl? Now you can. I picked this saw up the other day and was really curious about the bar on it. Seems the previous owner got the bar to fit but wasn't really concerned about oiling the chain as the oil holes didn't line up. Not only that but he...

    Project 660

Rudy, I nearly bought one but I have four 066's and two 064's already. The Stihl guys were fueling them up and trial cutting every one of them. Funny the 460's were selling for $100.00 more.
