Well what would cut faster? 18 inch .325 with an 8 pin, or 18 3/8 with 7 pin?

Pull the muffler and check the exhaust port. We see lots of these get plugged up with carbon. Is the carb oem or one of the Aftermarket ones?

Just got an email from my distributor with a 2012 chainsaw price list and update. Saw a couple of new things on the list. MS 150 TC-E 12 $429.99 July 2012 MS 461 20 $979.99 October 2012 guess the 150 is a new top handle, didn't get any other specs.

Was the mix red? Shindawia has an oil called red armor we use in the shop thAt we really like. Did you save a sample of the old stuff ?

Warranty? How old is the saw? I think the "pro" model stihls are only covered for 90 days. Someone correct me if I am wrong. EDIT: Yep I think I am wrong just checked the website and it says for 1 year unless used for professional use.

well the echo is as you know a good little saw, the 250 is nice also, but not sure if the oiler is adjustable? Since you are wanting something light maybe think about a husky 435(9.3lbs)? I know for a fact that they have fully adjustable carbs like the echo.

Markup on saws at suggested list price is not what you think. In the bottom bracket dealers make about 16%. That doesn't include shipping or overhead. In the top bracket which is usually 500 or more saws a year dealers make about 25%. On small saws like the 170 margins are even smaller...

Don't think warranty is transferable. And commercial warranty is only 90 days.

It's all about the EPA. As long as they can keep making the "dirty" saws they will.
