40 year old Partner bar/chain advice

I'm happy to post any and all photos necessary [emoji16]. The nose sprocket rotates smoothly I think but it doesn't spin like it is on a bearing iykwim. Thanks for the help. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

40 year old Partner bar/chain advice

Here are a few photos of the bar, chain and drive sprocket. Any thoughts are appreciated. Obviously the neglected floating rim needs to be replaced but has this likely also ruined the chain and bar? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

That concerns me too. I'll check it out. Any pointers on a replacement if needed? Thanks. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

40 year old Partner bar/chain advice

I can try to explain the problem. The chain binds and sticks even when it's loose. If I move it in the normal direction it will start off loose but then bind up. Force it backward and it frees up. I got the tip stuck in a fallen pine tree and it seems to have started then. The nose looks like it...

40 year old Partner bar/chain advice

Thanks! I'll likely stay with the same size bar and chain. I got the saw with an 18" bar which is probably the max for the saw but it's served me well. Going to a 16" is a reasonable option if it is noticeably cheaper. I'll probably check my local Ace Hardware store to see what they have. Sent...

40 year old Partner bar/chain advice

My old partner now has a bent and worn bar that needs replacing. The bar has outdated numbers that I can't cross over exactly but I'm pretty sure I need a .325 pitch .058 bar/chain 18" long. The original chain is a Carlton with k2 on the links. Thanks for helping. Sent from my Pixel 2 using...

if you catch a theif steeling from your property

Doug, I can appreciate your opinion completely. I don't agree with you about popping off a hand etc but I agree we are way too soft on crime. I never like to think we should do ANYTHING that their world countries do in regard to answering our social problems. Those countries are nothing like...

if you catch a theif steeling from your property

I'm with everyone that agrees a thief is a low life BUT if you catch one taking your stuff do they really deserve to die? I think not and I'm about as conservative a person as I know. Sure they deserve punishment but I'm not the law and the chances that the law will apprehend a thief stealing my...

if you catch a theif steeling from your property

So, as a white male, I can go steal something that someone else owns and expect to walk away clean if caught YET if I look at a woman or say I voted for trump I'm liable to receive a life sentence of social exile??? Wow, after re-reading that it doesn't sound too bad. [emoji4] Sent from my...

I'm am hoping, AGAIN, that I found the fuel delivery problem with my f@_&$ng 25DA. There was only time today to give the line some slack and take out the kink. I'll know tomorrow if it is the source of the problem. The only thing that I can think of that allowed the saw to run for several...

Yes to that. The one I was on had a power band that was like a nitrous **** once you hit it. It was quick outside of this rpm range but when you got into the happy zone it almost felt like it would take off and leave you behind. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

I've actually riden one of those things. Crazy fast. I had to leave it alone. I was over 50 years old when I rode it after repairing it and I nearly crashed it. I can't trust myself with speed. Really bad judgment regarding fun vs danger and going fast has always been a lot of fun for me. I...

It was sort of medium/dark gray. It was "clean" in that there was no gunk or residue on it. I've seen good running engines with much worse plugs in them. I'll take a picture if that would help. I'll definitely give it a little fuel charge first chance I get. Thanks for the tip that the wetness...
