    Stihl 025

Sounds like coil shortin out. or clutch side crank seal bad. run it and when it dies see if it has spark ? if it has good spark its possible the crank seal is expanding when it heats up and not sealing .

    Ported 031?

Not sure but you might be able to just dicth the gasket and use a good sealer as was stated . some saws need a thin gasket so that the piston dont hit. especally the older ones they used really thick gaskets. I know the 028s used 2 diffrent thickness gaskets from the factory that was an old...

    Ported 031?

One good thing about 031s is they are built like tanks!! just think of a 066 with a small bore. port the cylinder. remove the cylinder gasket to raise comp. (check your squish clearence before you start it no less than .020 to be safe) port the muffler a bit . and run the crap outa it!

New shoots or "suckes" as we call em are good on a maple and can be removed without harm as prevously stated. Maples are very resilent to trimming or topping. We butcher them all the time and they look bad till they fill out. in my area. most work we do is on soft maple and some hard maple . Our...

    Second opinion on tree

IMO I dont see any of those trees as being a threat . Mabe a good trimming and thin the oak out a bit in the middle. Im sure that land scaper would sell you some new trees once you pay to remove those! Also the landscaper by removing larger trees would make a dramatic diffrence to your front...
