Here in Northern Pennsylvania, you'd be money ahead to change the fuel filter. Use some power service "red" in the new filter to clean out the gel.
Good luck!
Do you have equity in your home? Probably the best option as it’s going to come at a lower rate and the interest is tax deductible. Along these lines, check out credit unions. My local was 2% on vehicles (a few months ago). Really easy to get along with.
I have gone to a pallet system and have had good luck. I found them by the hundreds at our local landfill - all stacked up and waiting to be had for free. I use a hardwood pallet on the base and two pallets on each side. Due to my pallet jack and basement space, I cut each pallet length down...
I thought the expansion tank indicated a closed system. If I was wrong, I apologize. For what it's worth, I have just over 4% additional capacity for expansion, calculated by gallons. The heating supply store locally was helpful, but online was where I found that answer. The standard sizing...
Not real sure that I know what I'm saying, but why the heat exchanger? I would run supply from the boiler to the tank (on top) and return to boiler from the bottom of the tank. When the boiler reaches temperature, it will turn on the pump and move water. The real big benefit of a tank is that...
Looks like a buffer tank set-up to me (an untrained guy). I installed and designed one myself, and it works well (for three winters, anyhow). Anyhow, mine charges the top of the tank (I have one) and pulls from the bottom to the boiler. My house pulls from the top of the tank to the...
I like to have an "at rest" area, which I seed in buckwheat around the first of July. Til it in in the fall and again in the Spring. Great stuff to break up the soil - it is hollow stemmed.
Good luck,
Bill
I do. I have a Biomass 40. I like it very much, but it almost requires dry wood. I bought it from Zenon at New Horizon. He is very helpful with details, sizing, etc. Google wood heating forum and you'll find a lot of reading!
Good luck,
Bill
Arborvitae are common. Blue and Norway Spruce are more deer resistant. White Pine are OK, but eventually lose lower branches. Probably the best solution is a mix of spruces and some deciduous trees. If you're looking for big (4' to 6') trees, I have some here at my place. If you're very far...
All,
Thanks for reading. I have an older welder / generator powered by a Kohler gas engine. It sat outside and the tarp came off for one good rain, and now it won't start. It is not getting a spark. I hit the points with sandpaper lightly in case a tarnish layer was present with no...

BigRockTrees is having a contest to see who can grow the tallest hybrid poplar in 5 months. All I had to do to enter was post this link:

I have found this outfit to be outstanding - and I can be pretty critical of businesses. John is a great guy who...
