    Champion log splitter?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MINE. I only wish it had a speed control for the throttle.

    Cast Iron Cookware

I hope to be selling my home soon, downsizing and move into a travel trailer so i won't be needing much of my cast iron. I will probably end up selling it but I imagine shipping kills any deals.

Dumb carburetor question, need help please

THANK YOU !!! The "clear" one goes on first. I guarantee this time, it will be assembled correctly and hopefully run right. I just hope he didn't mess with the mixture screws, as they were set perfectly.

Dumb carburetor question, need help please

I made the mistake of loaning my 039 to a friend, and even though his intentions were good to maintain it, he screwed up and didn't seat the air filter properly and the carb got polluted with dust. He took the carb apart and cleaned it, three times I believe because the saw never ran right...

    Worst firewood you’ve ever burnt?

Tamarisk, also known as salt cedar. Grows in the washes in the desert southwest. When it burns, it smells like ten million pairs of dirty gym socks.

Really really really want a tractor

Just don't get a Hoyt-Clagwell. Parts are impossible to get, and the wheels keep falling off. (Yes, I watch too much Green Acres, my favorite show from when I was a kid).

038 &039 carburetor kit question, do they use the same kit ?

Thanks for the help and information. If they weren't able to order the correct kit the first time, I'm not going to trust them to order it a second time, so I'm thinking I shall part with a classic saw that still runs very strong (if the carb was right) and I will clean the saw up nicely and...

038 &039 carburetor kit question, do they use the same kit ?

.It's a rental yard that also sells Stihls. They gave me the number for the 039 kit. I'm not sure I trust the info provided by most of the workers there.

038 &039 carburetor kit question, do they use the same kit ?

I had the local dealer order a carb kit for my 039 (even supplied them the part number) but a kit for the 038 came in so they said they would have to reorder it. There goes at least an additional two weeks waiting time now. My question is, do the two saws use the same carb kit or did somebody...

Automotive vacuum tubing for 361 impulse line ??

Looking online for a new impulse line for a 361 all I see are pix of straight rubber tubing, they don't have the bends like the current impulse line has. Would it be okay to use automotive vacuum tubing as the impulse line as long as it fits tight on the fittings on both ends?

    064 Muffler Mystery

If it was my saw, I would blame it on the space aliens. They refuse to leave me alone and mess with me all the time causing weird unexplainable things to happen.

039 - Wrong air filter or carburetor or piece missing ??

Any idea of the measurements of the shutter? I could probably fabricate something from my junk pile that will work.

039 - Wrong air filter or carburetor or piece missing ??

Thank you, sir ............ I will just seal off that fitting so it doesn't get crud past it.

039 - Wrong air filter or carburetor or piece missing ??

Obviously if I try to cut wood with the saw this way, it will suck unfiltered air into the engine. And I searched everywhere and could not locate a parts diagram or exploded view of the saw to see what it should have. The saw was a freebie to me and it does run very strong and smooth and I am...

Need detailed instructions-vacuum test 361 crankcase

MS361 won't start, won't draw gas from the tank. I did a search on the site but ended up more confused after the search, I need to learn how to vacuum test the crankcase and impulse line. I have a mityvac hand vacuum pump with gauge, and I might be able to fabricate some things to use for the...

039 fuel vent line question and want shop manual

The fuel tank vent line on my 039 cracked. I get sprayed with gas when the saw is running, so this must end and be fixed. Should I spend $8.50 online to buy one, or should I simply find a screw that fits into a new hunk of fuel line and call it good? The original line has two screws in it. Also...

    MS361 help needed please .....

I did manage to remove the roll pin completely, backed out the adjustment screw about 1/8" and was able to move the piston. Since it's fighting me going back together, I ordered a pump and worm gear drive thingy set online, both new parts. Not gonna mess with the old pump any more.

    MS361 help needed please .....

Probably just as well, every Stihl dealer around here is arrogant and greedy and I HATE dealing with people like that.
