    Amsteel whoopie won't slide

Darn thing will barely adjust at all. Do you think washing it will help? I guess I have nothing to lose by trying that I just wondered if anyone else had that issue with one. It's a few years old but not seen much hard use. I just use it for my smaller porta wrap. I am assuming it's junked up...

    33hp vs 44hp kubota Carlton 4012

Just looking for people who can speak from experience on these two engines. Also input on the 35hp vanguard may be useful although I have pretty well ruled it out. I am currently planning on getting a 4012 with 4x4 and wireless remote. I just can't decide if the extra 4,000$ for the 44hp is...

    stupid question

It seems that lately I have been asked like every other day for like at least 2 or 3 weeks...."have you ever fell?" or better yet "how many times have you fallen?". What the freakn heck kinda question is that? I mean who really asks a pro tree climber that? Apperently lots of people. I think its...

    New tribe saddle

I am considering a new tribe onyx. Looking for feed back. Curious about the new tribe style of leg straps. Not sure what I think. Seems like they would be great but if so why don't others mimic them ? Any input would be appreciated.

    Mealybugs

I am assuming these are mealybugs. Can anyone tell me what kind? I always thought they just affected small plants. These were up in a beech tree. There were some more that I saw on limbs I didn't want to remove. Will they harm the tree?

    Greenwheel

Anyone using it? Good? Bad? I have a carlton 2300 with 700 series lopro greenteeth and a 23hp kolher. It does ok but sure would like to improve its output. I worry the greenwheel wont improve enough to justify 1300.00. Any thoughts on the greenwheel are appreciated.

    Bound up sprocket

One of my guys was cutting out some shrubs and some how either cut into some kinda rope or a wad of monofilament fishing line. The line is all wrapped up deep in the tip of the sprocket. Sprocket wont turn. I can kinda see the stuff in there but cant grab it to pull out. I was able to get a bit...

    10mm husky

Tree Stuff - All Gear Husky Pink Rope Anyone use this before? I sold two tulip removals today and they are pretty dam tall. I am honestly thinking that my 200foot 1/2 isnt gonna get it. I wouldnt be taking anything very heavy or when I do I would be low enough to switch to a larger rope. I...

    A fun one

Any ideas on getting this down? Even IF the HO and the HOs neighbor said just cut it free n see what happens I am concerned that the tree that's appears to be holding the big one up will barber chair with some big time authority. I could get a crane to it if that's really the only safe way...

Mention backlog before going on estimate?

I am slammed with work (IMHO) at six weeks out. Last weekend I didnt get a job because of it. No biggie really except that I spent almost an hour at the guys house. Nice guy but not that nice cuz I got way better things to do with my very limited time. I also gave some estimates lately that when...

    Odd maple bark

I noticed this maple leaving the dump today. Drove right past it a hundred times n never noticed till today. I can't say I have ever seen anything like it. The dump site is an old nursery, could it have been some type of graft? Idk but it seemed worthy of posting. Any thoughts?

    Vt365?

Any one running this engine in a bucket truck? Problems? A google search gave me info that made me raise an eye brow. I guess its pretty much a 6.0 powerstroke except the 6.0 has been jacked up with horse power that maybe to much for it. Thats just what I heard online. Any comments concerning...

    Burned out

Anybody else feeling extra burned out? I feel like its the end of september. I am tired and finding myself less customer friendly. ropeshield

Anyone use this thing? Tree Stuff - RopeShield Installation Aid It looks like it would work. Maybe I was dead wooding a bunch of trees the other day and was setting lines for SRT and was getting pissed. I have noticed that tieing the throw line to a tight eye def helps but even then I was...

    Drop this spar?

I started this Tulip yesterday. I got to thinking that I may not have to rig the log all the way to the ground. The patio/sidewalk is what I am worried about. I could save some long pieces of wood and use them on the other side just past the ivy to drop on. My worry is that the butt end will...

    New England Super braid

Anyone useing it? I just got a 150ft of 1/2 inch from Sherrill and so far I would say it appears to be the biggest POS rope I have ever had in my hands. It hackles up real bad and makes all those little loops. It feels almost as rigid as my wire core flip line. Its brand spanking new mind you so...

    Mid range saw

i am posting this here because I want the opinions of tree service people and not weekend wood cutters. Although some of those folks know a lot about saws. my question is pretty simple, I am wanting another mid range saw and was leaning towards another 260 pro, cept they dont seem to make it...

    Summer outlook

Is anyone else here freaked out about the future of our economy? I almost couldn't sleep last night thinking about the 5.00 a gallon fuel that the news is going on about. I am so torn about whether or not to bust a move on a bucket. Not a new one but still an expensive deal for me. If I thought...
