    Is this good stuff?

Is this "good" bar and chain oil? Can I leave it in my saw while in storage (i.e., does it contain vegetable oil that will oxidize?)

    Bar and chain confusion

I think Husky, and interestingly Dolmar as well... though he said he has never even seen a Dolmar... most dealers where I live focus on lawn equipment and small chainsaws, if at all...

    Bar and chain confusion

So what is up with this babbling idiot at a local dealer talking about 100's upon 100's of bar and chain combination's?

    How to become a logger...

So I am curious what it would take to become a logger? Is it a seasonal job? What is the average pay for someone with no experience? Is there a union? Can I bring my own saw? My principal interest would be working in Eastern US & Canada or Europe. I have dual US and Canadian...

    Bar and chain confusion

Ok so I am confused! Does Husky make their own bars and chains or are they Oregon? Also, will husky bars accept STIHL chains? I have heard that Oregon uses a different sizing system than STIHL... is this true?

    Sharpening saw chain

What is everyone's opinion on electric saw chain sharpening tools; specifically, the Dremel OEM attachment? Or would you rather just do it by hand????

    I have created a monster!!!

I have a question regarding mounting of the Sugi bar- They supply these spacer things with the bar since it is considered a "universal" mount and (basically cut to fit STIHL studs). On my saw, with the spacers in place, the bar is not entirely "snug" on the studs. It does seem to "sit...

    I have created a monster!!!

I have never used any other ones that big, so as far as I am concerned they work as good as any... spikes are spikes though, whether they have 3 teeth and some funky design (like these) or the more classic 5-6 teeth "jaws" design like STIHL and Husky use...

    I have created a monster!!!

Ok, so after a bit of aftermarket refinery from my Canadian friends, here is the finished product (I am considering adding a muffler port, any thoughts on that?)- So I am most curious about chains... I have a preference toward STIHL chains even though I am not a fan of their saws... On...

    Decontaminating equipment

Ok so I have been tiring away with some very large, downed hardwood trees over the past few weeks (its a part time thing) and just to make things "spicy" these trees are COVERED in poison ivy vines. Any I mean the big, hairy ones!!! Up until last week the plants had not begun to bud, so the...

Hi Folks, Above all, I would like to express my appreciation for all you feedback in my quest to become a backyard-logger!!! In any event, I was able to sell the Jonsered 2255 on Ebay for almost the same price I paid for it!!! Frankly, I am rather pissed at Jonsered as well as the dealer for...

    Which Dolmar would you buy?

If you had to choose between a 6400 with the 85cc mod kit, or a 7900 (keeping in mind the 6400 with mod is $200 less and both are brand new) which one would you choose?
