167 dollars for a carb rebuild, not even a new carb? That is pathetic that they would think to charge that. Ask them what was wrong with the carb, was it debris, corrosion or a check valve in the carb?

Thanks a lot for the help guys. Good to know its an 036. Would have liked another 044 but I have a 440 so it's not a big deal haha. Is there any difference between the 036 and 036 pro internally? I know there is a decompression valve but is the cylinder bigger or the rod length different?

I have saws, and other motor projects torn apart or just about rebuilt that have been sitting for a few years. I just have too many projects, and then i either take on more projects or I need to do other things. One day i would like to catch up, but I dont think that is any time soon.

Yeah, i know the best way is to split the case to know that everything is clean or remove the seals to clean out the bearings etc. Im not going to pull apart the lower end on this saw though, so i just figured id clean out the case with a solvent.
