I ended up with about 12 lbs. Yes, they are a sour or pie cherry. I froze them for making smoothies but might have the wife try making a pie too. It was my first time ever handling cherries.

The tree was here when I moved but I believe it is "Montmorency".

I can't find a clear answer on whether cherries continue to ripen after they're picked. I picked these today or the birds were going to if I didn't.

Got it! I've taken an axe and shaved the bark off on construction sites where equipment got dirt on the trunk.

Reg, Is the bark removed to look for nails or just to keep the saw chain sharp from dirt,sand , etc?

These logs were down about 8 months and probably stickered for 8 also.

Can I make 12" tongue & groove paneling with white pine or will I have trouble with it cupping? It's air dryed.

Good post, thanks. It's taking longer than seven weeks here but we are higher in elevation than Harrisburg.

Everyone I talk to around here is having trouble with tomatoes not ripening or at least taking much longer than usual. Any thoughts on why this would be? It has been a wet year and other than one really hot week, colder than usual.

Still getting loads of cucumbers & green beans. I got the corn and potatoes in late but they're coming along.

Been busy here, not much time for anything else. Needed some rest today.
