I see what you you did there...

Load 6. The closest pile is starting to take on a pyramid shape as I keep picking away at the edges.

Wait a minute. This could be some kind of scam... or possibly scamola.

Well... I meant that I forgot to take a picture of it in the truck, so assembly required to make it into a load again. But yes, disassembly to make it into firewood.

Load 4 (some assembly required) Load 5

Yep, no trailer, have to improvise.

Yes and yes. The kicker is that the developer has an excavator on site occasionally. And he apparently wants the pile to dissappear (the guy he had never came to collect the wood.) So I bet for a few bucks or a case of beer he would load the trailer until it was gone. Unfortunately, I don't...

Well, the log pile is bigger than I expected. And there's another pile next to it. And a few more older piles if I really got ambitious. Load 1: Barely made a dent - the close pile is probably 6' tall, 20' wide, and 20' long. Mostly oak, with cherry, maple, and a few others. Looks like I'll be...

And that's why projects take 3x as long as we think when we start. "Might 'swell"

He did use these overcenter latches on the sliders to pull the door against the seal:

I think it worked fine. Of course it does take up wall space. I suppose you could then use the back of the door if you wanted to. As mentioned before, I would suggest something to keep the door from coming off the rollers - when my wife was a young lass visiting her parents she parked her car...

FIL used a steel panel slider on the inside of his barn. His logic was that he didn't have to shovel snow to open it like if it out was on the outside after a snow storm.

Ha! I'm good thanks! I like those small logs that I can cut to 42" lengths - less handling, no splitting, nice stacking, and easy loading in the OWB. Those big rounds sure do make a lot of firewood though. 👍

Pretty much! LOL My (former) cottonwood guy giving me access to wood cleared from another property he owns. 5 miles away and easy access hardwood logs? Uh yeah, count me in!

Can I play too? Any guesses?

Got the rest of the oak split and a load of straight stuff to the stacks. Also cut a large broken oak limb by the pond so got that stacked too. Had a busy day that was not exclusively firewood.

2 loads after breakfast. I'll spare you from posting the 2 logs of bark/splitter trash cleanup.

Managed a couple more loads this evening and cut limbs/noodled a few chunks so I have something to do in the morning.
