    partner s55

That partner has a real common tilly carb. They respond well to a kit and a simple cleaning. Nice simple saw to work on. The wiring to the ignition chip can be iffy. I think a husky 55 coil is a bolt on. But carb kit best place to start.. There a solid hard working saw. Good luck Sapcan

funny how they seem to end up with a lawn mower pull handle...

    Partner 5000 plus

I think...? the husky 55 is loosley baised on the 5000. It might be that a 55 piston that is windowed would work...I think there were some early 55's that had closed port top ends....so there might be an aftermarket piston out there for it.. good luck sap can

MS661 takes a break during milling?

you might by now have a fair amount of saw dust and debris packed around the coil....clean it all out so some air can get to the coil and possibly clean the pull cord cover to improve the air flow andmight just solve your issue.. good luck

    not running 024

unless you have excessive ring land clearance i would re ring that piston and run it. There is a small spring to hold the choke flap away from the carb opening when the choke is off. If its missing the choke will get sucked against the opening every time you pull it over..just a thought good luck

Stihl MS250, stalls out when releasing throttle, but ONLY when bar in log

i skimmed though this post and by now you probbibly have fixed it or are on your way to...what you originally described is a slightly rich low speed setting but to rich a high setting can do it too. Assuming imbulse and all the rubber stuff is ok as described above this is what i think is going...

Educate me about the Husky 61

I built one with a 162 cylinder and piston. I seem to remember it is a closed port cylinder and the porting looked somewhat better. Ran real nice. The 61 i think all had a open port cylinder but makes them real nice runners and strong in the mid range. Still today i feel a rock solid fire wood...

Educate me about the Husky 61

Those are great saws...not quite as powerful as your 036 but close and can be...Thats a nice example with the metal chain brake flagg...They can over time split the recoil hub that the rope winds onto...makes pull cord real hard to pull....can only see the crack if your remove the rope...lots of...

Oil Mix Ratios and Cylinder Head Temperatures

really reluctant to get into this...but if your rally gonna do it i think you need and EGT in the muffler and a repeatable test procedure...... good luck

    Stihl 031 problem

classic bad coil looses spark when it heats up.....coils still have spark externally when checking but not enough under cylinder compression.....tank might not be venting...that tends to be a gradual stop to the engine.... good luck

    Stihl 031 clutch

clean the clutch good with sand paper and lacquer thinner and the inside of the lining a bit too. jb weld and let it dry....it could last for awhile...if you have a sharp chain and you are a smooth cutter shouldn't load the clutch too much...if ya go into the wood at near full throttle and the...
