The pulleys on the 252 clutch are universal for A and B width belts. However the jackshaft pulley is A width only from the factory. You can change the front to a B width pulley, which will allow you to run the bigger belts from the clutch to the Jackshaft.

We run the 35HP Briggs on our 252's and occasionally we break the housings on the UCP bearings on hard impacts. The UCPE bearings seem to survive better in this situation.

Instead of a UCP-208-24 USE a UCPE-208-24 same bearing much heavier housing.

If the pin is locking into the drive hub and the wheel will not engage, the roll pin that locks the hub to the axle shaft is sheared.

Carlton builds that unit with a 35 HP Briggs Stratton and a 44 HP Kubota. So I would say you have some options.

That is the lower pivot. Yes the bushings are replaceable, but there a real pain to change. Before you try to change them there is a nut on one side of the pivot shaft. Tighten that nut as tight as you can get it and you may pick up enough slack to make it acceptable.

The pins that attach the hydraulic cylinders at each end have a wear bushing that are made of a hard plastic and wear pretty quickly. You can replace them with Vermeer bushings or go to the thread (252 upgrades ) and learn how to replace them with needle bearings.

Is the play Left to Right or Up and Down?

put your shaft in the freezer over night. It will reduce the diameter of the shaft enough to slide on the bearings, and when it comes back to ambient temperature you will have a nice snug fit shaft to bearing.
