    PowerSharp!!!!

That is not the original powersharp 91TS chain used on the Craftsman branded Poulan S25, that is the 91LX chain. Great photo illustrating why 91LX can't be sharpened - the bumper drivelink is in the way of depth gauge preventing depth gauge from being ground down. I realize that photo shows nose...

    PowerSharp!!!!

The original Oregon powersharp chain designation 91TS (circa 1980) worked fine and sharpened good when used with chainsaws equipped with rotating round sharpening stone system - eg. McCulloch mini-mac series, Poulan Micro series, etc. The problem was with sharpener systems with curved stone...

The 425077 seal is a 17x40x8 and the 425076 seal is a 17x32x7. I ordered seals equivalent to 425076 from Best Parts Online Home Page - their number 17 X 32 X 7 TC, NBR. Ordered seals equivalent to 425077 from Boats.net - New and Used Boats for Sale, Outboard Boat Motors, and Discount Outboard...

    Husqvarna 41

Sorry, but these saws were designed and assembled at Poulan, and most of the parts were made at Poulan factory or by local suppliers. The only reason that it has a Swedish made crankshaft is because Husqvarna needed more volume for its factory to improve efficiency. The cylinders were machined...

New saw chain on the market, first look!

Chinese Chain E&S Garden Tools is a Chinese company and makes their chain in China. I was in their factory about 4 years ago - very little quality control on their processes. Their chain at that time was junk - stretched terrible and I beleive that some of their cutters broke in half. They...

Permanent Fix - Plate Oil Tank Divider If you want to fix this plate permanently, use Devcon Aluminum Putty 10610. Pioneer used to use Devcon in production to fix the plate. It is expensive, but is great material. I use it for repairs like this, and to repair holes or damage to castings. Of...

Chain brake Poulan did not sell S25DA 0r S25CVA with a chainbrake, but they offered them as a kit for a low amount. I have a couple of unused Poulan Green chainbrakes and a Craftsman red one. The Poulan Pro S25 was the only one of this series that was sold with chain brake.

.325 vs. 3/8 Technical Comparison. The 'real' Story

I wish it was this simple to calculate chain pitch to use SawTroll is correct, plus sachsmo's suggestion to use .325 narrow kerf chain (Oregon 95VP) and narrow kerf bar will wake up a saw with a displacement of 35 - 50 cc. If you don't believe that kerf (chain width = cut width) is...

Mark, I don't know who Ron is, but there is a number of inaccuracies in his answers. It does not matter to me, but the record should be set straight. Originally Posted by Modifiedmark No doubt about the S25 putting Poulan on the map, I would love to see the total production numbers on...

Iel ab Those IEL AB saws are in good condition for their age. They are very heavy for their size. It would take a strong man to use one of them all day. I have 3 of them, but one needs a fuel tank. If you ever see a AB fuel tank up in the NE, I would be interested in up to two of them, one...

All chainsaw foam air filters should have a light oil coating to be effective in filtering out the dirt and dust that is harmful to an engine. The oil helps trap the dirt particles berfore they migrate thru foam. All production Micro series(1800, 2000 & 2300) air filters were oiled and wrung out...

I have been curious for a long time why I see so many people on this site wasting their money on US 93 Octane fuel. All production chainsaw engines through out the world are designed to run on equivalent of US 87 Octane fuel. Some European engines are designed to run on the equivalent of US 85...

Pioneer P45 Mark & Justin, You are correct, there is not such a thing as a Pioneer P45. The P45 was developed as a Pioneer Partner in Huron Park by a friend of mine - Kevin Murray. The Pioneers were moved to the Trail Manufacturing plant in Huron Park (outside London, ON) and the...
