    Whats heat?

It wasn't the door gasket that kept you from freezing. With all that antifreeze in you, you were probably good to twenty below.

Catalytic vs Secondary Burn Technology Advantages?

No one answered op question about burn tubes. My Regency has 16 years on the original stainless steel burn tubes and the look like new.

    My reflections of A.S.

While I agree with most of the OP, I also notice many posts by folks who seem to be too lazy to look up the info for themselves.

    Bulk Firewood Drying.

Had a day in late spring when it was 104 & 2% humidity. Add in some wind & everything dries out pretty quickly.

    Stove Maintenance Lessons Learned

One of our local VFD's offer that service for free. They would rather do that than fight a fire.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Well, I got out the 066 to cut up the big stuff today. Man did it fly compared to cutting my usual dead dry oak firewood stuff. Just about through the first cut & found a rock embedded in the tree. Another unexpected surprise. At a casual glance it didn't mess up the chain too bad. Got out...

    The Economy of Wood Heat

We'll, this is a chainsaw forum. If you like to play with your saw, you might as well get some benefit from it. The exercise will probably do you good also.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Nope, not dead. Maybe not real healthy, but having it blow over was a surprise.

    Neighbors that borrow stuff.

I used to do a lot of free computer work for friends. When I said that I would still do the work, but they would have to bring it to me, the requests went to virtually zero. :)

Does really close to home count? Came home from visiting inlaws to find this in my back yard.

    burning practices

I belong to the group that thinks that hot fires that need occasional tending don't create as much creosote as stuffing the stove full & throttling the air down.

    Moving heat throughout house

I have a fan setting at the end of the hallway. The stove is at the other end of the house. Works pretty good for me. Set it for non-oscilllating.

Why all the excitement over the DHT splitters?

The suggestion of a log lift is a good one. I also recommend a splitter that is tall enough. Bending over the short ones gets real old, real quick for me. I ended up modifying mine & my back thanks me every time I use it.

    Thoughts on plastic saws

Last year a neighbor gave me a MS210 in partial payment for some tractor work I did for him. Having turned 70 recently, my shoulders protest when I do limbing that is head high & above. I thought this thing would be lighter than my 026 pro & that idea was appealing. The saw had not been run...

Yep, I can move the stop side to side enough to get it out of the way.

Let's say you come home from work and find there has been a sewer backup...
