    whadja do today?

This monster fell down at a good Friend / neighbors house. I told him please don't touch. He's skilled guy but this stuff is dangerous and his wife would kill me if I let something happen to him.... Many other people stopped by and gave him the old "oh I'll help you out... this weekend" and I...

    Food and Beverages From Customers...

I was offered coffee during a morning estimate early this week, but I kindly declined as I’ve never met them before, they seem nice but you never know now a days. I usually supply coffee and lunch especially on bigger jobs as it’s just two of us. A few times home owners have gotten us pizza...

    custom chainsaw pack

Thanks for the kinda words. I will be handling some finishing touches on this in the weeks to come.. I don’t personally do fire service work, but their ideas were a big influence on my build. As well as years of personal mountaineering experience and my background in tree care and falling... I...

I am into building some of my own tools as well. I Haven't built any rigging gear yet but I have some ideas I’ve been working on for quite some time. Thanks man. I really hope it does. Part 2. The start of The finishing touches. :) So a while back I saw these axe holders in a catalog as well as on YouTube. I found some sheet metal and went to town. It fits like a glove and I can reach it in the proper orientation. Chaps are Lebonville...

    custom chainsaw pack

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here, but I figured this was a great place to start off again. I’m am still active in the tree care field but I work in more than one industry now... both get fairly equal time, well all of it. I surprisingly had some free time over thanksgiving... and...

    Crane slings?

I would look for some Samson stable braid 1" or or larger about 50' and splice some eyes into it. Then make some spider leg out of 3/4 tenex. They sell a premade one from sherrill but you could make one for cheaper

CLIMBING PADS AND SPURS- caddy pads vs buckingham big buck super wraps

Buckingham steels with big buck pads I prefer the non Velcro version as the Velcro get messed up over time They are the most comfortable I have found but you have to get yourself a real pair of pole climbing boots to complete the system take a look at hoffmans or wescos

it not bad habits its called a learning curve regarding the welder. Its the skill, not the equipment that makes the man. The equipment just make thing more efficient. it would still bother me whether he spent 500 or 5000 it just doesn't make sense to me start small and then buy more as you...

Local ad you guys have to see this one

Ok so I am wrong about him being an idiot and I don't really feel bad about him taking a loss I think there were many other more productive routes to start with other than just buying all the gear If he had just started a thread I n homeowner help forum he wouldn't be in this predicament and...

Know I just think it's foolish to blow money I an advanced set of tool if you have no clue how to use them properly. I have tons of snap on tools but I didn't buy them and then become a mechanic I had mechanical abilities and purchase them as I need more advanced tools for each job I have done...

Local ad you guys have to see this one

Its just the the lack of judgement that scares me more then anything that someone would just buy all that gear with little or no knowledge when he could have just hired a professional to do the tree work properly I mean weigh the options here Option 1 You purchase $3000 worth of gear You take...

I meant a professional writer I own a tree service thank you very much I agree with you that in most cases you either have it or you don't But just as I don't condone hacks on ladders with chains saws. I can no more say its ok for a homeowner to buy equipment and assume he will give it a go...

Local ad you guys have to see this one

This is not a writing forum nor am I a professional so excuses me!!!! But why in your right mind would you Condone this type of behavior. This is not some hack trying to start a tree service (that's a whole different issue) this is a home owner looking to do his own tree work let's make that...

$3000 worth of gear could have bought a decent amount of pruning or removals but now the work is still not done he's probably gonna take a $1500 or more loss and then on top of that he still has tree work to do Some one was not thinking this desicion through whatsoever

Local ad you guys have to see this one

So I came across this guy try to sell a bunch of climbing gear the story is so ridiculous he could have hired someone for less. How could he be so stupid to think he could just do what we take years to learn When will people Learn to just leave the dangerous stuff to the pros...
