    Stump Guard Shielding

Try treeline in Tampa. They're dealers for stump grinders. They're on the net so you can get their number there.

Bought an isuzu npr for my stump grinding truck.

I like your idea. I've thought about doing that myself. Maybe getting an F350 4x4 with some ramps built into it to pull right onto. You could get close to wherever you needed to work with the 4x4.

    Green Teeth and Red Teeth

I always use the reds on everything. They are dished out for a good edge. They may chip easier on rocks but I've had good luck with them. You shouldn't have a problem.

What could cause literally half of a tree to die?

I'm voting for lightning. Just saw a huge oak tree that is still partially alive that was struck by lightning. Most of it is dead now. Really ashame as its a beautiful old oak and one of the larger ones around here. You can see the evidence where the lightning came out the trunk near the ground

    Question about stump grinder teeth?

Check out greenteeth. Once you make the initial investment in the pockets all you're buying is the tooth itself. Much cheaper than what you're paying now.

    Question about stump grinder teeth?

I haven't tried the square teeth as described above. I've been using greenteeth for about 5 years. For anyone who hasn't used them, they are very quickly replaced. Maybe 1 minute per tooth as they use a stud and nut. The other nice thing about greenteeth is they turn in 1/3 increments as they...

    Preventing Raccoons from Climbing

My neighbor used to feed them. He's an animal nut. He changed his mind though when he found his gutters full to the brim with raccoon crap. So far he has trapped around 30 of them. Its amazing how they can get into a trash can. One night I left my screen door open to the lanai and 3 of them got...

    cutting roots?

I'd go at it with a grinder. I always have a long pry bar to knock loose rocks or pavers that trees and roots grow around. Also wire cutters are always in the toolbox as well as spare greenteeth. You're not going to hurt the grinder. The worst is you'll chip some teeth. I've hit railroad spikes...

Stump grinding - how to bid a job

Too many things to consider to go by the inch. How many surface roots to chase, hardness of wood, how deep they want it, where it is and how hard to get to it, do I have to move stuff outta the way? I think 150-200 per hr is reasonable for a mid size machine like a 35 to 50 hp. A large diesel...

Wealthy arborist's beauty queen fiancee kills intruder

I saw the story this morning on the drudge report and thought the same thing. What an idiot to brag about his ''wealth''. I'm glad they got rid of the creep but wouldn't have felt to bad for him if he got beat up a bit.

    Tree Trimmers Insurence

I think you may find most insurance companies won't write it for less than .5 mil to 1 million and you're gonna have to go with a year minumum. They may let you make monthly payments for a small fee.

    Need Advice Independent contractors license

In the county where I live in Florida, landscapers can't cut trees and tree guys can't do landscape. Separate licenses. In another county near here its the same license for both professions. One county makes it a bit tough to do business and the other county way too easy. The county that has the...

    Root pruning an avocado?

Can't tell you about the avacado but here in fla. I regularly prune roots of oak trees right up to the trunk and have never noticed any harm to the tree. You're not supposed to do that to the fla pines as it makes them a target for the pine bore. I did my own oaks over 4 years ago with no...

    What size skid steer?

You have to be careful on your turns just as you would with a skid steer wheel machine but tracks have much less ground pressure.
