Johnson J9900 Question - how much wood?

No problem. I'd like to update and get something more efficient but when I get 8 to 10 hrs on a burn I think I'll run it a few more years. I paid $400 for it in 2010 and have only had to replace door gaskets and the fan motors once. I keep a spare set of motors to have on hand just in case...

I have the same furnace. I dont load quite to the smoke shelf inside. Heating 1900sf 1.5 story I can get 8 hr burns with good seasoned hardwoods. As far as a manual goes good luck. They are really close to the box store $1000 wood furnaces. My dad had a vagelzang that was almost identical...

The family and I stopped by their store in Peru Indiana today and they were selling a DR Rapid split or whatever DR calls them. I looked it over just out of curiosity. It was assembled on their floor. I thought that these had 2 flywheels. I only saw I (but it did have the covers on it)...

    Problems with Johnson Energy J9000

Look for those blower motors in a grainger catalog, I have a Johnson energy stove and had mine go out mid heating season, my advice would be replace them before you have to shut the stove down in January to replace them. Mine was a real PITA with a return box mounted.

    Possible Log Splitter Cylinder ?

what I found out building a splitter was that unless you have everything laying around youy place for free or find it dirt cheap you can still buy a 22ton huskee cheaper. Notice I didn't say it was as well built or as heavy as a homemade splitter but I did say cheaper!

25" Ash dropped, bucked, split tonight.

our problem around here is now they have been standing dead 2~3 yrs and now they are getting punky in the center of the log. we have been basically logging them out and stacking them off the ground. more will rot then we are able to get to. The loggers aren't even taking them anymore!

25" Ash dropped, bucked, split tonight.

looks like the bark stayed on when it was dropped, must not have been dead too long! I am 2hrs north east of Indy and most of our ash trees are bark-less or losing it. Looks like a good operation you have going on!
