    Replace or rebuild 026 carb?

If there's no corrosion inside the carb or wear on the butterfly shaft, rebuild the old carbs. If they have issues and you need to replace them, try farmertec for cheap aftermarket. So far every carb I have bought from them worked. The last one was a wt215 copy.

Any aftermarket heads that don't cost an arm and a leg?

    Saw head for Stihl hl75k?

Wondering if anyone has converted the Stihl Hl75k or similar long reach hedge trimmer to a pole saw? The pole is 1" diameter and the shaft is .200"/5.09mm square.

Yes, the muffler was gutted with only the slits in the tubes acting as a sort of baffle.

    Poulan 2375le Cylinder

On my 2375 I filled in the old exhaust and vented the mounting tubes to exit out the front. Of course I ditched the cat cage as well. l.

    Poulan 3700, worth fixing?

So, it runs and quite well. Didn't even have to put a carb kit in it, just drained the brown old gas and it started running once the old gas was flushed out of the carb. Even the mixture needles were spot on. Next to nothing for wear on the rim sprocket either. It pumps oil, but only when...

    Poulan 3700, worth fixing?

Have a 3700 that's missing the air filter cover and filter. Has compression and good spark. Saw is in very good shape showing little visible wear.

    Rust removal

The ratio I use was 1-1 hydrogen peroxide to vinegar, with a small amount of salt, in this case several from a shaker. Haven't played with ratios yet to find the ideal mix. Diluting it with water would slow it down but may be necessary for large jobs.

Help me identify this Poulan please

Keep it for parts. They are actually easy to work on and good to practice your repair skills. AM Piston/cylinder kits are cheap, and you can play with modifying them without investing a lot. Junk ones can be picked up for $10-20, and they actually run half decent when put together right. A...

    Rust removal

In the past I was using muriatic acid to remove rust from mufflers etc, but the fumes made this an outside work proposition only. Last night I tried something different on some drill screwdriver bits, I mixed up some salt, vinegar, and some hydrogen peroxide. I put it in a pudding cup and...

    Flattening A Warped Intake Manifold.

I probably would have used glass and Emery cloth as well. However don't knock the usefulness of a small lathe, I've owned a unimat for years and lost track of how many times I've done small jobs with it

    "You Suck" Thread 2023"--Pics required!

Received this 330evl from an uncle, at 93 his sawing days are past. Nice shape, runs good and should clean up well. A bit heavier than an ms170, would perform the same tasks.

what would be a good almost daily use chainsaw

How old is old? Pre- chain brake? If that's the case, you couldn't go wrong with a big homelite like the xl925. Would pull a 32 inch bar no problem. Had the slightly smaller sibling 902am, it was surprisingly smooth for no antivibe, and those old Homelites made power everywhere with the reed...

Trigger locks. (chainsaws) How far back do they go?

Yes, the 620 that my father owned did not have the lock, but the 1420 I owned did have it. Had to replace the plunger style primer, could not find parts to fix it on the 1420.

    Brand Blindness

No brand loyalty here. Husqvarna, Stihl, Homelite, Pioneer, even had McCulloch and PM saws. Still own a teeth rattling wild thing that starts 2nd pull every time. Whatever gets the job done when you need it to.
