looking to buy a 50 cc firewood saw, either husky pro 50cc sthil 261 or dolmar 5105

You could use all of your old husky 51 bars with a 5105 as they have the same bar mount. That stuff is getting more expensive all the time...........

Want to Sell Husqvarna 36 $110 shipped

These are good little saws. The first saw I owned was a 36. Got rid of it for something bigger and better but have regretted ever sense. Good-small firewood saw.

Want to Sell Poulan pro 330 150.00 pho

Well...............I'm with Don on this one. These are good runners and they were a steal at retail cost-new. They will run on up past 13,000 RPM and a simple muffler mod can be done by removing the cross tube and slightly opening the muffler hole. I ran an 18" bar with the smaller poulan...

    Sold Husqvarna 257

1997 Husqvarna 257 (57cc). Starts easy, runs very well and oils well also. Piston and cylinder are in great shape. Compression is 145 psi. This saw is original with a new oregon rim drive (3/8). These have a nice big air filter, and a grease through crank shaft to allow you to grease the...

Looking for replacement bar for Dolmar 421

If you stick with the 3/8 set up, it seems you are limited on bar choices. Oregon has the double guard (pointy nose) or the pro-lite/pro 91 with the more rounded nose which I prefer. Look it up by searching Oregon 160SPEA041. If you switch over to .325 there are a few more options. Left...

Sold Brand new in the box Husqvarna 257 with all papers, bar, and chain

These saws have some pretty unique features that many other saws don't share. You can grease the sprocket bearing right thorugh the end of the crank shaft, two different drums are available so that you can run small or standard rim drives, they have a nice big air filter with tons of surface...

Your opinion of best firewood chainsaw for homeowner

No ignorance in this post at all. Many people waste a bunch of money on the wrong saw(s) only to learn the hard way what you just said. It depends on what size wood you expect to be using the saw for. If you expect to cut some larger trunk sections, a bigger saw makes a big difference in work...

Your opinion of best firewood chainsaw for homeowner

My Dad is about 68 and has cut his own firewood for most of those years. He has owned many saws including a MS-290 and he will pick up his Husqvarna 445 for 90% of his cutting work. I am not saying it is for you but it is pretty light, runs a 16" bar great and can pull a 18" (especially with...

    Favorite Firewood

White oak and black locust for overnight logs. Poplar for kindling. Hickory, ash, red oak and elm for everything else in between.

    Dead Locust

Most of the time, when I talk about cutting locust for firewood people look at me like I have asparagus growing out of my ears. Around here most people pass it up (I just don't think most have ever tried it). I go out of my way to cut it and never turn it down.

I got a BIG saw for christmas.

I had one a couple years ago and absolutely love them. They have loads of torque and that mean pop to the exhaust! One of the best saws for the money in the Husqvarna line up. I cut some pretty good sized oak firewood rounds with mine and it had great muscle. They are heavy enough that mine...
