    McCulloch Chain Saws

I’m glad to see it’s still up and running.

    ignition chip

There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why they fail for some and work for some.

It’s coming back to me now, The nova 2 does have two spade terminals. The ground wire connects to the screw that fastens the chip to the saw. I had a couple fail until I moved them far as I could from engine heat. I’m also running one on a Mini Mac 170 that had a coil fail. I believe that one...

Honestly I can’t remember because it’s been a while since I looked at the instructions.

I’m using the nova 2 on SP 80 and 81.

That was a long read, thank you. With all that said, my chips are still doing good. I had some over heat but moved them further from engine heat. They seems to be very reliable and don’t need maintenance

One of these days I will get it off the shelf and try it out. It’s not very fast but it pulls like crazy.

    McCulloch Chain Saws

I had a P1000 for a while and put it on eBay 5-6 years ago. It sold for over $700! A whole lot more than what I gave. I really disliked the saw. It was weak. Maybe on par with a SP80-81.....maybe. I ran it with a 32” bar. As far as bar length on the 82cc Macs...I’ve got more than a dozen all...

Looks good Mark. I have that same generator and use it any time I need. It’s the only generator I own. It’s a pretty cheap unit with Jen Feng power head and it’s super loud but I’ve got almost 200 hours on it now. (Had to add my own hour meter). Plus I bought it used so I’m not sure how many...

I guess they are different than the others. I like that style.

That’s a roller nose. Pretty cool bar. I’ve sold off the two that I had. Kinda wish I had kept one. They say debris can get in front of the wheel and throw the chain but it didn’t happen to me in the limited use I have it.

I don’t think I’ve had to change the gasket. It’s been so long now I can’t remember what was plugged. It was a probably plugged in circuit from the manual oiler over to the bar.

    McCulloch Chain Saws

Probably leaking from the gasket area between the manual pump and the oil tank. Anytime I’ve had a blockage that’s where they leak. It sucks because you’ve got to separate the tank from the motor to access it

No plans right now, both trees were dead and in the way of another project so they will be cut up into bigger pieces and put in out of the weather for now.

Looks decent inside. The ole MAC was chugging. It literally ran out of gas as I finished one cut. So it was a full tank of fuel for 10 feet and 11 inches of this log

That is the square file but this tree is fairly soft. The center of it should be some beautiful wood due to it being dead for a while
