    Stihl 036 pro cylinder question

If you aren't sure of what year they started the NiSI plating then how could you be sure that mine is??? Just asking! I know there are aftermarket jugs available that do and don't have the coating available. I just need to make sure what mine is before ordering another jug. Pro-c...yeah...

    Stihl 036 pro cylinder question

I have a Stihl 036 pro made in year 2000. Does anyone know if the cylinder has the NiSi coating? It is a stock cylinder from a stock saw. Also does anyone know if NiSi is a 'standard' thing now for Stihl and if so what year they started doing it? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

49mm piston in an 036 pro - Has anyone ever done this?

I bought an 036 with a scored jug wall about a week ago and I was thinking about putting a slightly bigger piston in it (after opening it up). Would love to put a 49 mm piston in it (stock is 48mm). Has anyone done this type of upgrade on an 036? If so, how big can one go or did go? (Depending...

    Felling tutorials

Are you concerned about your safety when falling the trees? Sometimes just having those fewer techniques will keep things safer and will be less confusing. Work with what you know and become good at them. If you can stay a bit flexible with your current techniques (for all trees seems to...

    039 issues

Remove the plug and look at the color it is...that'll tell you better about if it's running too lean or too rich. Does it smoke when running? What is your fuel mix ratio? Also might want to check to see if the gas tank filter is clogged or if there is any crap in the carb.

Did I make a big mistake on this 064

How about possibly keeping the saw and getting at least half of your $ back??? I'm sure there are a lot of good parts on there!

    Felling dogs, spikes, dawgs?

Do ya notice a difference between the 3 tooth dawgs and the 5? Liking the 3 tooth - looks very aggressive. Makes me wanna make something like that when I get bored at work!

    exhaust mod help

Looking for input on the optimal size for opening up the muffler exit port. I remember somethijng from a few years back on this site but don't have the actual number. This will be on a Husky 365 and something like 80% of the jug exhaust port area sticks in my head. Any input would be...

    I saw it on Ebay/Craigslist

08 Husky 365 mint condition Just bought a 365 Husky off of eBay for under $400 witha 28 in bar and 3/8 skip tooth chain. Ran it today for the first time since getting it...ran great! Started on the first couple of pulls. Saw is in great shape - I think it was a good deal....what you all think...

    Muffler mods.

I know there is a percentage somewhere on this site that gives you the proper amount of back pressure needed for the saw to run properly. Not sure if 80 - 85% is right or not....it's been quite a few years since I did my mods. I could measure my modded mufflers and compare it to a stock to get...

    Husky 365 Muffler Mod Tuning

Sounds fine - mine did about the same thing once my 365 muffler was done. Did ya check it while buried in wood? The only time your carb would be different or where one has to worry about getting enough fuel is if a big bore kit was installed. My $.02.

    Why NOT wear chaps???

Sometimes even if you don't make a mistake it still makes sense. I had a chain come off at half throttle in brush which threw the chain back at my leg and took a chunk out of the chap...which was better then it being my leg!! If I had only jeans on it would have been a chunk of flesh. I wear...
