    chain identification

Does anyone know what this chain is or who makes it? "H1" and "18" on DL's. It's 3/8 lopro (I think) and .050 gauge. Can't find any reference to it on internet. Thanks, Joe.

Stihl FG2 Bench Mount Filing Guide

I love mine. Here is how I mount it, lag bolted to a 4X4 piece of PT post, then I mounted the block in my vice. Makes for a nice chest height. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    Finished log lift build (pics)

To calculate the pivot points I first constructed the lift and mounted it on a plywood bracket exactly like the steel one on the beam. I then mocked a plywood plate and mount and clamped it on the lift exactly where the cylinder would land the lift on the floor fully closed (I already had the...

    Finished log lift build (pics)

I got the splitter at a yardsale for $125, it had been outside, uncovered for years and was in tough shape. I cleaned it up and repainted, I was able to salvage the rolling splitter/beam and the cylinder. I re-powered with a 9HP Honda and a new 16gpm pump and valve. The original oil tank...

    Finished log lift build (pics)

I wanted the quick connects so I could fold it up straight without making the hyd lines too long and easy removal if I want fix/change something later. They work fine and made for a good mount and transition point for the plumbing - the splitter doesn't have alot of room for plumbing.

    Finished log lift build (pics)

I posted here a few weeks ago with my log lift project started. I know you guys like pictures so hopefully I haven't wasted too much bandwith with these. I designed the lift to attatch with quick connects so I can work on it or for transport, although I can disconnect the cylinder and stand it...

    log lift question

Was thinking of that to. I think I still might need quick connects to stand it all the way up and not have alot of extra hose- also I suspect it would be a tad top heavy, it tows ok now (back roads no more than 40 mph) but lift and cylinder are going to add a 100 pounds give or take.

    log lift question

Have my log lift fabricated and mostly installed on my splitter (sorry for the cell phone pic). What do you guys think about plumbing this with 3/8" hydraulic quick connects? I would hard mount them out of harms way and be able to remove the lift for towing. Uploaded with ImageShack.us...

372 XP coil wire routing question

i have a new 372XP that I am cleaning up. I removed the starter cover and see two channels to insert the blue coil wire. The ignigtion wire obviously goes into the top but I can't decide which of the two lower channels shouild I push the then the thinner blue wire or if it makes a difference -...

Want to add a log lift to my splitter

I have a horizontal splitter with a 9HP Honda and a 16GPM pumping a 4"X24" cylinder. This system works fine and is plenty fast. Lately I have been considering fabricating a log lift. I now have the Prince LS valve and was wondering if changing over to this: Prince Hydraulic Control Valve -...

    New Husky 372XP question

Just picked up a brand new one this weekend. Tag says made in 2011 and its the x-torq. The decompression valve is a black button on the top right of the saw. I thought they were blue and on the right side of cyclinder, when did they change? By the way, saw doesn't like to start or pop with...

    Sachs Dolmar Cylinder Question

Thanks for the replies. The saw is a regular (47mm) 120. My compression tester is usually spot on and has the schrader valve, my other saws read 150 to 180 with this same tester. I was suprised at the low compressiom myself and thought maybe the rings had worn so for 30 bucks I am going to...

    Sachs Dolmar Cylinder Question

Got a new piston for my SD120 - as you can see the old one (sitting on top of rewind starter) wasn't that bad. No scratches, but the finish had worn. I could only get 125psi for compression. The second shows the cylinder which is pristine, maybe TOO pristine. Should I scuff it up and what...

Sachs Dolamr 120 with low compression

I have a Dolmar 120 with a curious situation. I got it to fire for a couple of seconds with mix poured into the carb and then it was a no go. Seemed to pull a little easy for this saw so I checked compression with a good tester and got 125psi. Pulled the jug and found almost nothing. No...

I have a Partner 500 that will not start ?

I put together a Jonsered 490, which I believe is the same saw and it had two key ways on the flywheel. Apparently for two different ignitions.
