Been reading about muffler mods for a ms260 and it says that a deflector froma 288XP can be used. Does anyone have a picture of one that they can send me so I know what I am looking for, or can fabricate one. Thanks.

Thanks professor Thats exactly the feedback I was looking for. The acid cleaning went better than i expected, just happened to find some muratic on the shelf at my shop, used plenty of water, took it slow and tried to keep it in one area at a time. I will take a look at it one more time...

Figure on repairs If you cant remove the muffler and do a compression check before you buy, and they are non runners just figure out the price of a rebuild. I am doing a couple now, Bought them all non running, One just needed a 4$45 brake cable, and the 260 I may be able to get away...

Couple of questions for the experts. After acid etching and sanding there are still a few small areas of grey, should I keep acid etching until all of the cylinder is the same? Instead of doing a vac test/pressure test, why not just replace the seals? Are the aftermarket seals/ gaskets...

Car wash I pressure wash equipment that I work on before i start the job, makes things so much easier. I just pre spray with a degreaser or cleaner and spray away.

OK I will hit the search funtion I can see doing the upgrade and there is a ton of reccomendations out there. I will see if I can wade through the stuff to see how to modify the housing for the 194 carb.
