    Stihl 241C issues

So on my 241C when the chainbrake is engaged, while the saw is under load, the saw shuts off after this happens. The saw does not shut down if the chainbrake is engaged while the saw is idling. Could this be an issue with a worn clutch drum or any other ideas about what it could be ?

    Firewood Poaching?

That is why in my opinion if you are interested whether x,y,z is legal or permissible it is best to email the relevant government department or agency rather than to call or talk to them in person. First of all if the answer you get is in writing the person or government employee who wrote that...

28" tsumura light vs. 28" stihl es light

I'm leaning towards the tsumura simply because its $40 or so cheaper than the stihl and imo the quality of tsumura bars is higher than the stihls. However the tsumura light bars are also heavier than the stihls and I am wondering does anyone know how much and how discernible of a difference it is?

    Thinking of starting square filing

Just thinking aloud here, but Aussie wood is A LOT harder than North American woods, especially the softwoods of the West Coast. I mean some of the Aussie guys have said that oak is considered a softwood there. As far as I know the Stihl, Oregon, Carlton etc... chains sold there are the same RC...

    3120xp - 50in bar - skip chain?

Are they running two powerheads on that bar?? As if i ain t mistaken on a signle powerhead the biggest bars they run in the PNW for the giant OG was 10 or 12 foot and thats on the huge OG. A 7 foot bar is extremely unweildly i cant imagine 14 the sag would be huge.

Boring or Plunge Cutting with Full Skip Full Chisel. Is it not possible or not done.

did you enter or begin the cut on a 45 degree angle instead of using the actual front part of the bar nose?? A plunge cut can certainly be done with skip chain.

The working man, and chainsaw thread!!!!!!!!!

Id say 1/3 to 1/2 of what it costs new for a used one, although i imagine its a pita to find a used one and if you're having it shipped add another 10-15 or so as they are hard to come by on the east coast used.

    Alternative to sharpening your chain

Yes belt sanders are the way to go and they are for creating a dead edge knife into a sharp one. HOWEVER stones or those things u see butchers, the name escapes me atm, are for maintaining a razo edge, u do not use a belt sander for that- give ur knife a touch up every once in a while with one...

Bit offtopic but what the hell you know those little metal rollers inside bearings?? The working man, and chainsaw thread!!!!!!!!!

I dropped a tree on this 044 a few years back- felling it from the ground-saw got pinched and it went with the tree Best thing in that case imo is leave the saw and run. No saw is worth your life. Very glad you got away with no injuries, yup its surely a learning experience and a...
