I know it’s probably impossible to know at what serial number did the contra g end and 090g begin. But I would also like to know at what serial number the contra g began. Years ago I contacted Stihl Germany but they could not tell me. They said records were not kept that good back then.

I guess it could have been. I have 5 090g chain drive saws. Four of them have 1109s tags and one has no tag. I don't know if I believe that at one time they were all Contra G or GS's. I just always thought they were very early 090g and Stihl was trying to use up Contra parts. Because if someone...

Oh I agree it's a Contra G. Just wondering if it had a tag. I think just because it doesn't have a tag, that doesn't automatically mean the case has been replaced. Maybe it fell off or it just didn't come with one.

Does your Contra G/090g have a 1109 tag?

Up for sale is a Stihl 090g that does not run. I poured some gas down the throat of carb and it ran till all of it was gone. Compression is right at about 145#. Any questions just ask. PRICE DROP asking $1400 plus the ride, before it hits the bay.

Serial on the BDKH:10361 Another tough one is the Stihl BDN. Stihls biggest two-man. Looks like the ks-43 but it's 300cc instead of 250cc!! Gotta put big boy pants on to run it.
