To pull a 4'er, how big do the Huskies need to be at least?

Guys here cut down trees that are over 10' (120 inches) with 066s or 395s with 36" or 42" bars. So you need to learn, a lot.

    365 special???

I have used both, the 372 is my pick, I don't care what anyone else has to say-they are the same thing, blah, blah, they are not. Heard the same bs years ago, a 61 is not a 266XP either.

Never looked at it till now, that stump is crazy. Nothing to be proud of or show you sitting on unless you are a tourist or something. But I mean every thing I first said.

    Westcoast hackers!

What is wrong with removing trees that are blocking your view? There are plenty of trees on the island. As long as the person owns the trees, or has permission from other owners, it is really no one elses business. I thnk this is bs, where does it end, the tree police, do gooders and others...

What's the best BS sales pitch you ever got from a dealer?

Bought a little Stihl for the g/f, the guy starts telling me, without me saying a word, all about the "great new caps" on the saw. I couldn't take it, I was like "Listen buddy, I remember when they came out with these useless caps, why the would fork up a good thing is beyond me.....amd so on"...

    fitness for climbers

Removals with a bucket truck are fun, you can use your whole body and rock an roll. Tree killin fast, lots of fun. Faster than climbing, course, when you climb out of the bucket to finish, you are the man.

    Random Ramblings, Cutting Logs

Yep, truer words have never been spoken here. I love this old joke-guy is brought before the judge, monday morning. Judge "Sir, you were involved in a bar fight, you are facing many charges. I see you already have an extensive record, so I want you to post a $500 bond to be released"...

How to cut beams for roof pitch?

Measure one carefully, lay it out with a framing square. Make sure it fits and then use it for a template. Make the two cuts with your skilsaw but finish them with a handsaw so you don't weaken the rafter. Good enough, but if you are doing it right you are supposed to do them one at a time, like...

    ELECTROCUTION: how to avoid

Fall a big top onto the line, making real sure it broke free (shallow undercut). Hopefully it would rip the line down and help, maybe not, but I would try it. Even better to fall a big tree on the line. They teach you not to do this, but so what, they gonna put you in jail for trying?

What to do with this Bar?

When I was thinning (spacing) we all ran Husky 266XP saws with 18" bars. All the little trees were cut with the back of the bar, quickly, like just pounded through in a flash. The bar rails would always chip, even with constant filing, new bar every month or so. Thats the way, production...
