    Flu season

My experience has been just the opposite. Uncle Sam has made me get a flu shot once a year for the last 12 years and I can not remember the last time I have had a full blown case of the flu. I have been sick a day here and there and have had a cold but never anything as debilitating as what many...

Poulan Pro - Which 'newer' ones are good saws?

So after reading this entire thread, as I understand, the poulans are all good as long as they are used for what they were intended and they are well maintained. Is this a fair assumption? It sounds as if the older Poulans were geared more toward the professional crowd and the new Poulans are...

    I Need Some Help

I used to enjoy getting ahold of friends phones and switching them to different languages. Usually I would have a little fun and then switch it back for them. I had a friend mess with my phone once and made little flowers dance around on my phone when ever they called. I never did figure out how...

How clost to a stream can you log?

Is the logging road maintained now? Who had been paying for the maintenance if it is maintained? Do you get to choose who uses it or is it public? What standards do you have to meet in order for the road to be considered mainatained? I do not expect you to post an answer to all of my questions...

The we need to help Stump rebuild a shop, replace tools, replace saws thread.

This may have already been mentioned. I stopped reading and post 180ish. Someone should start one thread with links to all saws being sold for Stumpy. That way there would be no question which would sell more. AS raffle vs Ebay. Everyone at AS would know exactly what is being sold without having...

    locking saws

Just dont tell the insurance company your house was unlocked and the keys where in the ignition when you are robbed. They do not pay out if your roll out a red carpet for criminals.

    Made a Kindling Splitter today

I just use another piece of kindling to hold the piece up I am trying to cut. Kind of like using a push stick on a table saw. Worst case senario is I end up with some short kindling. I still have all of my fingers.

    Too early for this!

My family moved from South Dakota to Tennessee last winter. I like when it "snows" around here. Everything lets out and shuts down. The schools shut down when the weatherman says the words snow and tomorrow in the same sentance. The first time school was let you our 7 year old asked why...

Rubber covering for Stihl front handle

I read a thread earlier where a member was talking about using black rubber hose from the hardware store. I dont remember which thread or the name of the member. He was in the process of rebuilding a Stihl 041. He mentioned he measured the handle dia and then bought the same size black hose...

4 banger Toyota pickup as a wood hauler? (Show me your Toyota hauling!)

If I were in your shoes I would fix the problems I am aware of. After making the trip to the woods a couple of times I would then decide what to fix or upgrade. This is just me thinking outloud. How heavy will the trailer be fully loaded? Since you will be using a small pickup would it be...

    Dear Abby

Lying by omission is still lying. Fess up and get it over with. That way you can feel better about it while you are using it. Unfortunatly you have set yourself up for the "remember when" comment for the next few fights. Remember when you bought that saw....

    Odd tips from the garage

I usually keep some type of hand cleaner near by but if there is nothing around you can use dishsoap and sugar mixed together. The soap cuts the grease and the sugar works like the pumice in most hand cleaners.

There's Nothing Like A Nice Piece of Hickory

Sadly no, back when this movie was made you could not mention or show a nice piece of ash on TV. As you may have guessed the old Birches did not want the young Hollys to show their big pink azaleas or small douglas firs. Lucky for you the internet came along and now you can look at an old...

Cures for Posion Ivy...got any ideas?

I have been doing a couple of things when I know I have been exposed. When I am finally able to get to the shower I wash down with dish soap. As stated earlier it cuts the oil without hurting your skin. I also rub any area I think was exposed down with alcohol after my shower. My father in...
