MS362 Runs great! Dies at idle.

BAH! I hate that answer. chainsaw carbs are nonsense. I'm afraid you're right though. I feel like I've paid for this saw 2-3 times with the repairs its needed. I had to replace the crankshaft last year.

Not Mtronic. I'm barely smart enough to run a regular saw.

MS362 Runs great! Dies at idle.

I've adjusted it to stock and up and down about 3/4 turn with no major difference. sometimes it'll race a bit but then still stalls at idle.

MS362 Runs great! Dies at idle.

Hey All! I've been trying to avoid bothering everyone with my problems, but I'm stuck. MS362 - Starts and runs normally, but won't idle. 4 pulls on choke, switch to half, runs on half, pull the trigger and it spools up and runs wide open with no problem. I don't have a leak testing rig, so...

    Japanese maple wound care

Hey all, I have a big Japanese maple in my yard that has had a large wound since before I owned the property. It’s pictured below. I’m looking for advice on what to do to help it along. It’s a vibrant and very healthy looking tree aside from this spot, but I’m sure that if it’s not...

Stihl MS362 killing oiler worm gears

Here’s the best pic I could get of the busted threads. I got a replacement worm in the mail today, I’ll report back on if it spins with the clutch or not.

Stihl MS362 killing oiler worm gears

I did not lube the pump the crank case bearings are the right depth with the clip installed the parts are oem It’s possible that I missed the little pinhole in the clutch drum where the worm gear arm is supposed to sit. I thought I had it right but now I’m doubting myself. Thanks for...

Stihl MS362 killing oiler worm gears

Just rebuilt a 362 corpse the a i got for free from work. it had a bad connecting rod bearing, so its a total rebuild with a new crankshaft assembly. After the rebuild it runs great, but wasn't getting any oil (this may have been a problem from before the rebuild), so i checked the oiler and...

    Ms 362 sounds wrong

. I hate these too. This saw has been around the shop a while but I doubt seriously if it’s seen 40 hours. We have others to use when we need to, and my understanding is that this one has been trouble for a good while before it failed entirely. If I ever get it going I’ll post the...

    Ms 362 sounds wrong

No wobble in the bearings though. I’m starting to get frustrated. Maybe I’ll buy bearings and do it. Then at least I’ll know.

    Ms 362 sounds wrong

. now that’s interesting The gasket is in place appropriately, but I did have to pull the jug back off once because I heard a little clank at tdc and when I pulled the plug off the clank went away. I disassembled and reassembled, changing nothing, put the plug in and no more clank...

    Ms 362 sounds wrong

Couldn’t say what the initial cause of scoring was. The whole thing is really clean and solid aside from the scoring. Is the crank shaft supposed to move free and easy? I find it to be a bit stiff.

    Ms 362 sounds wrong

The coil is definitely spaced right, all the other hardware seems clean. The saw got blown up before I got the job but our motor pool mechanic swears that a guy who retired could start it up no trouble with “no choke, no decomp, two pulls.” I don’t believe him as he likes to tell stories...

    Ms 362 sounds wrong

at work we have an ms 362. It wouldn’t start and sounded bad on pulling- scraping, rough pull etc. pulled the piston and cylinder, found scoring, replaced both with stens set for this saw. Carb is spotless, everything seems to be in order, but even with the new set up, it doesn’t sound...

Marginal ignition module? Spark but no fire.

Blah. I’ll see if I can find a tester, my motor pool mechanic is on vacation.

Marginal ignition module? Spark but no fire.

I don’t have a compression tester here, but without the decomp pressed it’s a nice hard pull. The air leak is possible I guess, though all my rubber is solid- it’s not as if it starts consistently and doesn’t stay running, it just doesn’t like to start at all.
