I have an 2006 bandit as our backup. Our production chipper is getting an engine overhaul and this chipper is constantly breaking down. We replaced the murphy switch a few days ago and it failed again. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Freightliner warranty issues

I’m desperately posting to this site to try and connect with other folks that have dealt with daimler/freightliner with warranty work on a brand new truck. I’m out of options and don’t have my truck after five weeks and there’s no communication in when this issue will be fixed. The dealership...

    Ideas for heating my garage

I have a new 50x50 garage with 14’ ceiling and I need to figure out a heat source for the winter. Tried to get a pipe installed but every contractor is booked past spring. I don’t know what I’m doing for installs so there’s no way I’m gonna wing it. I was thinking about a portable propane...

    Dt466e going into limo mode

Twice or three times a Day our international goes into limp mode. I got three codes for the pedal, 135,134,133 and a code having to do with the ecm 626. I can’t find any chaffing and the battery box was changed a short time ago so the terminals are all good. We cleaned them real proper. If I...

Oil in the air filter element

I already searched for this so bear with me. I have a stihl 460 that has what seems to be 2 stroke oil coating the air filter element. Should I have it tuned or is this indicative of something else?

    Autofeed issues with my woodsman

I bought a woodsman 15x and the autofeed works intermittently. It gets the rpms from the alternator and I checked the electrical connections at the solenoids and they looks clean. Any idea on how to troubleshoot this. Additional question. If my worker pushes the reverse bar and the autofeed...

How do I manage large amounts of firewood?

I’ve been doing more and more firewood as my business has been growing. I don’t like it but I have a hard time getting rid of logs. Last year I did maybe 60 cords and this year it’s over a hundred. I have it out in the open, full sun, and on sand/gravel with moderate drainage. The stuff towards...

    Bidding work around construction

I'm starting to feel like I have to put a footnote or tack on extra to work on new construction jobs. The last two I've done I've lost hair working around concrete crews or the excavation starts before we r finished. Real boondoggles. What do you guys do when you're facing this?

    Stihl 261 shuts off periodically

The dealer thought it was the kill switch so they fiddled with it but to no avail. I checked the kill ground and there's a space inbetween it. Could it be arcing to shut off or is the kill switch a red herring?

Leaking bar oil from stihl 201 case seal

Craigslist is charging for job postings now

News to me. Just fired a guy since he thought it was a good idea to not show up or call for four days. It's only $25 which isn't a problem. Has anyone seen a difference in interview calls since they started this?

Mine came with a .063 bar but I'm not sure if there's a point. Help me out here. I use it for my guys to limb up stuff by the chipper.

My 441 is hard to start after jug reolacement.

Hey folks, I had the jug replaced on my 441 a year while ago and ever since its been a real stick in the mud to get started when cold. Many pulls to get it to run without dying out. Once it's the saw warms up it starts and runs just fine. Any suggestions on what to do to get it to start easier...

    New 261 having trouble starting.

I was wondering if this is common with these new saws. Even when warm sometimes it takes 3 to 4 pulls to get it going. Very annoying trait. It's still under warranty so if there's something amiss I will take it in.

My intl shakes in third gear

I have a 2000 intl with a road ranger six speed. I just had the tranny rebuilt and the clutch replaced and it still shakes in third gear when pulling a load. I took it back and the shop said it is an engine issue and not the drivetrain. Any ideas folks?
