    Dead 290?? Any help out there - please!

    If there is a schrader valve on the end of the compression hose, (the end that goes in the saw) make SURE that it's not loose, I bought two differant brands and each one was loose so I would not get a good reading. Hope this helps

    EEEERRRRRRRRR Topping I am trying to run my own buss. and alot of people don't know topping is a bad practice, I do not top unless the tree is coming down. Trying to teach the costumer is sometimes hard.

    Backup Climbing saw rec

    husky 338xp I use my 334t muff mod husky for my backup, and it has been a vary reliable saw so far. Not as powerful as the 338 or 200 but runs great.. (You also get to feel what saw feels better in your hand) brand wise;) ;)

    MS 170 vs PS 341

    I have a 180 That has a muff mod and it cuts up to 8" great. I have beat the tar out of it and it keeps running, That said, I think the front handle is weak, and the air filter design could be better, It cuts alot faster than my husky 240:cry: 240 is a slow animal, I think its the muffler

    Belt or suspenders?

    I wear a belt most of the time, suspenders with construction tool bags, fire turn outs, and overalls. I found that my hipbones got raw when using a belt under the saddle, so I switched to a cloth belt and I really like it:clap: Don't your shoulders get sore and chaffed when using suspenders...

    I have the top pictured one and like it, but as said it doesen't look like it it would take a beating and keep going. No problems with mine but I try not to beat it up.

    I have a fs85 It is as sold shaft and it does great for light brush and weeds. For what you are describing I wouldn't go any smaller than a 250, also bicycle handles and a full harness are a must. Might want to use some sort of leg protection as well. Cut safe

    Chain sharpening

    I have sharpened by hand for abit and I get into the strap a little, not on purpose..no failures... If you hand file as I do than you have to use 2 size files..... the big size for the first half life of the chain and the next size down file for the last half of the chains life...

    Tree leaning on power lines

    I'll get some soon. Same owner has a tree that he wanted removed because it was dead. I looked dead but no dropping bark and on the tips it was green. so I told him to wait a bit and see if it's just a late bloomer.

    Tree leaning on power lines

    A wind storm here a while back caused a tree to lean on a power line 440v (I think). The owner called the power comp.......the neibour called........ and they FINALY came and looked at it. They said it was ok:dizzy: :dizzy: The owner wants it off of the line, I may end up pulling it...
