    Black locust fair price.

I have a tractor at my end. 660 and 361 stihl and a big custom vertical table splitter. I just have never bought wood before. Normally I clean neighbors fence rows or down neighbors trees. Just add transportation and time to clean up the brush I really don’t have right now (or past winter) and...

    Black locust fair price.

I have not cut firewood for two years due to three kids know and building a large addition (nearly triple original house). Due to the wuhan virus panic of 2020 I might have several weeks to do things at home and thought of buying logs to cut and split to size. A good friend and coworkers son...

    Stolen tractor

If it was mechanical injection you just have to unhook the kill solenoid and jumper across the starter solenoid . No key needed. Now weather the dope head was that smart?

    splitter wedge question

I had to blunt of an edge and it would some times explode chunks to the side (dangerous) or some time stall in hard to split woods. Adding a sharp edge about 1" tall solved both issues. Most woods now split about 2" into the wood but the sharp edge severs if needed. Just make sure it can't...

    Green lumber for trailer decking?

We always preferred rough cut green white oak for our lowboys decking. Nothing resist weather better especially after being soaked in oil and grease. Also steel decking is slicker than snot on an oil slick. Dangerous when loading even tracked equipment. White oak resist dents better as well...

    Firewood planting.

Ask yourself do you really want to plant those trees? People with good intentions have imports and cultivated non native species here in the states and we suffer the consequences. Russian olive, multi fora rose bush, chustnut trees(caused chestnut blight), elms(brought Dutch elm disease)...

    Vertical table splitter build

The new wedge help tremendously. No more explosive splits. Only stalled out once trying to split down the center of a knotty 48" white oak. Have a video but need to figure out how to edit. Also have plans on google sketchup. I would like to give them away for public use. However I...

Wha? Carb adjust screw vibrating out

Finger nail polish works well as a non permanent thread locker. The "official" loctite for small screws is purple. Don't use red! Bobl method will work but if you become anal like most has here you will want to tune for changing weather conditions and after several adjustments thread...

Wha? Carb adjust screw vibrating out

Welcome to arboristsite! Your supposed to trim the tabs off and reinstall. The limiter takes the place of the springs that prior models had installed. However you really need to be asking the questions in the chain saw forum.

I Just Got Lathed For The First Time!

Can I see a close pic of your motor control box? Is it a dc motor from a treadmill or something? I operate 20 million dollar mazaks, stamas, landis, and dehoff at work but have an atlas 12"x36" as well as an atlas mfc milling machine at home. All most done restoring the mfc and I installed a...

    I hate sanding!

I find a carbide drill shank to be the best burnisher Make a handle similar to a file/chisel handle. Put a ferrel on it if you wish(copper union fitting) if you wish but not necessary. Drill a hole the diameter of the drill (1/4 -3/8 work best) and epoxy the drill backwards into the handle...

    new garage heating ideas

To eliminate chances of breaking the in floor piping the most important is proper subgrade prep and drainage. Ideally the subgrade will be 3 times the thickness of the floor of clean compacted crushed stone. Of concrete that has not cracked or settled, stuff even 50 years old I have torn out...

    Help! First season burning wood!

If it's wet don't try to burn out the creosote. Get a brush and some chimney rods and clean it out often. Depending on your stove and the wood you may need to do it every couple of weeks or so. Have hubby get up there and check it. Also you may want to get a lighter hard wood such as ash...

    Dull chain taken for evidence

Why do they even mention that the crew maybe responsible to pay for damages? I used to live there and I would guess with 99% certainty that they are illegal day workers. Most you could get out of them is a goat and a set of Dayton rims!

    possible benefit of ethanol?

One of the biggest reason modern vehicles have less problems is that the tanks are not vented anymore. Vented tanks drawn and expell air every day as the temp rises and falls. The moisture in the air condensates and enters the fuel. Add 10% ethanol to a closed system and it will absorb 3.8...
