Never seen a metal one. Have seen aftermarket (china) of lesser quality that don't last. Also in colder temps a lighter weight bar oil puts less strain on that gear.

When I fill my cans, I always pump a couple gallons in the truck first to purge what was last to go thru the hose and nozzle.
There is an early and late style ignition for the 70E.
The part number you gave is for the early style (before serial number 1585000) coil located under the flywheel. Module for this mounts in recoil housing.
The later uses a conventional coil with a nova type module mounted on case by carb.

The closest factory service manual I have is for the 510/520. It doesn't give a torque spec., just says tighten alternately.
Later model saws spec sheet gives spec. and most are 10-12nm. (88-106 inch lbs.) for cylinder.
Model 80. This one is just out of my reach in travel time, considering I should be thinning, not adding!
Good deal for collector near U.P. MI.

Knowing--56mm bore, thyrister ign. (2pc. mounting bracket) and w/de-comp, narrows it to R440T.
R40 and R440 are point ign.
P100 2pc. ign. module in handle, no de-comp.
P100S one pc. ign., no de-comp.
If you have all the parts to build a runner,,do it! You can add a muffler brace from a 353 346 2152 2153 with an easy mod. Keep an eye out for 346 with bad cyl. for future build.
