Really? I would have thought the power of the saw would stretch and break the chain. What type of bar oil did you use? I never cut anything larger than privet hedge and the occasional Christmas tree.

Should I put .325 chain on an MS880 instead of .404? Smaller chain should cut faster, therefore, better.

Well, I was using an ax and cross cut saw when I was there, I couldn’t get close to the chain saws to see. I was there almost two years, great time, plastic money, plenty of beer, what more could you want.

Brown or tan oil, nothing grey or black. But only if the serial number ends in *********-***087. If not, any oil will work because it was made before the changeover.
