got a ? i just got a parts saw in today and was wondering how i could tell it from a 038. the guy said it was a magnum but has no emblems on it. i know the mag has a bigger bore, so how can i tell exactly.

id say thats about it, but is the american people make them or foreighn people make them here in america for us.

no wonder our government has no money. they make crap that dont last. germany, is very rich and has the stihl company which makes billions. why couldnt the usa come out with something like that. only thing we have is harleys. dam germans. :bowdown:

why is it that no onelike em, pulling the cases apart. to me it seems like its just as easy to rebuild then 1 that you dont have to split the case on, everyone seems to frown on splitting the case to rebuild them

thanks alot guys. i might try and get it anyways and use it to trade on a 38 super. the guy said it was almost new not ran much but he wanted 300 for it. just might trade it for a saw i really need. dont sound like this saw is a very good repair saw since they made the guts in the plastic case...

sounds like your not getting any fire to the plug,if starter fluid was put in it and it didnt start, you have a problem with spark, check to see if you have any.

thats it guys, you said it all. i am using it as a professional saw. i run a tree care bussiness and thats why i had the 038 av super professional saw. i hope the 039 can match up to it or at least better than the 038. whats your opinion guys. can it handle what the 038 super can!

what is the difference between a 039 and a 390 chainsaw i know the age is on the 039 but what about the 390.:rock:

stock is just an overpriced item unless you want to pay for the name stihl on it aftermarket is better it will perform better than stock and is made better hope this helps

038 super ill have to agree with you on that 1, but i guess i had so much money and time in my super its like nothing else matters. it was a horse and had all the power i needed w-24'' bar it was my saw. i counted on that thing and never,ever let me down.

i dont want 1 i guess i just have it for the super i really like em the magnum doesnt do anymore than the super

fuel tank lightly cover the outside of the fuel cap with silicone and some on the threads let it set then assemble
