Productivity of Climbing vs Lift vs. Grapple-saw Crane

Since acquiring a CMC 83' lift, our productivity has increased dramatically. The 65' boom truck stays in the yard. When circumstances are right, one set up with the lift will allow one (man) to trim or remove multiple trees. The lift also lowers the amount of rigging required for most removals...

    Improving hydraulic winch line speed

I have an Edge Industries 15,000# hydraulic winch, from Skid Steer Solutions. It's attached to my T595 Bobcat. I'd like to increase the winch line speed, but have no knowledge of how to accomplish it or even if it's possible. Hoping someone out there has some experience/ideas. Sent from my...

Looking for reasonable source for 35 yr old Kohler parts

Inherited log splitter from father in law, it's from late 70's. Has 8 horse Kohler model#K181PT, spec # 30559d, serial # 9571382. I've got no spark, coil wire cap just sits on spark plug, it is original. Pull starter works/engages/grabs about 25% of the time. I've used it now for 2 years...

    Husky 61 no spark

Found a guy with a 266 and he let me borrow his coil for testing, with his coil I've got spark. Interestingly the fairly new Bosch spark plug from my saw doesn't make spark with his coil. Got a coil on order Sent from my GT-P5113 using Tapatalk 2

    Husky 61 no spark

Thanks for the replies, mine has an orange top one blue coil on the right side. Disconnected wire at switch still no spark. How do I determine if it's coil or module? And where can I either for $3.99 Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

    Husky 61 no spark

Inherited 30 year old Husky from father in-law. It looked and ran well, only used it a couple of times. I have 6 nephews that occasionally cut with me and they all like to use grandpa's saw. The other day it would not start, no spark. Replaced plug still no. Tore it down to crankcase, cleaned...

    555 problems, no warranty!!

Yes I do think they should go out of their way, but if his story is true husky is hard to get warranty repair $ from I understand his perspective of not wanting to buy me a carb. I only know what folks tell me, I did speak with husky and they verified original dispostion of not wanting to pay...

    555 problems, no warranty!!

Today's update. I will try to answer everyone's questions. I have always broken in all my saws with canned fuel purchased from dealer, this one no exception (is this a bad idea?). Although I have purchased 2 saws, one Stihl weed eater and numerous chains/bars/plugs/oil etc.. from this same...

    555 problems, no warranty!!

Today's update. Saturday went to dealer he restated carb is defective, and he is aware of service bulletin from Husqvarna. He said to get payed by husky they have to authorize repairs, and the warranty tech at husky said they will not pay to replace/repair carb. The dealer is to recall husky...

    555 problems, no warranty!!

I'll take you're advice and check with other dealers but, I also called customer service and their response was "carbs are only covered if the doesn't run or run right, right out of the box" Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

    555 problems, no warranty!!

Love my 346, and my Stihl top handle and 044, so I had to have a new tech 60cc saw. Bought a new husky 555 in April. The 555 never started or ran perfect out of the box. It was very smooth though. So I just barely used it this spring and don't cut in the summer, to hot. It finally got cooler...

Choosing a new saw and warranty concerns

I won't be buying another Husky. Took my 6 month old husky 555 in to the dealer, because it starts and dies. The tech determined that a "check ball" or "valve" that controls fuel to the"main jet" is defective/stuck open and allowing too much fuel flooding the engine. Needs an updated carb but...

    Husqy 50/60cc saws (346xp, 350, 555, 357xp)

The 555 is a 60cc saw and works like one, a little smoother, a little lighter, it's not turbocharged. My 70cc Stihl makes more power and is heavier, my 346 is lighter and makes less power. I've only got a couple of days with the 555, but I'd say it is best balanced with a 16" bar or a light 18"...

    555 HUSKY, buy it or?

Two tanks through it yesterday afternoon. First thoughts, smoothness is it's best feature for me, for the first time I understand SawToll's mantra of better balance, flipping it around for different cuts is easier and not just because of weight (I know when I was younger and stronger this would...

    Husky 445 or a 450

How nice, free stuff is great! I owned both of those saws for a short time. Couldn't get enough oil to the bar on either one. There is a noticeable difference in power between the two, although I would only regularly run a 16" bar on either one. Had an 18" on the 445 and a 20 on the 450...

    555 HUSKY, buy it or?

Well I'll be puttin my little 555 into a few medium sized 12-18" oaks Saturday, let you know how mine cuts, however sounds like you need as much saw as you can handle.

    555 HUSKY, buy it or?

Have no intention of modifying my new saw in any way, at this time. If I wanted a 562xp would have bought it. If choice was available would have chosen a 560xp. Just would like to know the differences and like most of us older woodcutters I would like a 10 pound 70cc saw! I have an appreciation...

    555 HUSKY, buy it or?

Thanks for the replies and info. Sounds like nobody no exactly what makes an xp on this chassis, however the guts seem to be the same, handling and durability should be the same.

    555 HUSKY, buy it or?

Thanks for the answer Sunfish. So the coil, carb, exhaust are the same, would need to port it. Also change the air filter, is the air filter larger to possibly flow more air or just for more filter medium for longer service interval?
