    Your first chainsaw.

I grew up using my grandpa's old Homelite. I wish I knew the model or what happened to it. I bought a Poulan Wild Thing when I was 21. Used it for years. Wised up when I was 29 and bought an MS261. It is such a great saw. I got to pick saws out for my volunteer fire department this year and we...

That is what I figured. Would it be worth having them milled?

    Tree problems

I am not sure if this is where I should post this, but here we go. This pine fell at my parents house yesterday afternoon. It damaged the porch and some of the wall in the living room, but it could have been worse. It is 23" diameter at the base and about 50' tall. My dad has three other pines...

Cutting a Christmas tree in the house with a chainsaw

Watched that episode last night. I loved when he brought the saw in and cut the tree.

    New MS261

I did mean RMC3 chain. I think I will be getting RSC from now on. That is what my father-in-law runs. He seems to really like it.

    New MS261

Thanks for all the great advice. I am going to keep the 20" .325 setup I have and add a 16" .325 setup to go with it. I used the saw again yesterday. I absolutely love it. It has plenty of power for my needs. (For now. Lol.)

    New MS261

Forgive me. What do you mean by 7 and 8 pin?

    New MS261

Thanks again everyone. I hope the pictures turn out ok. I used my iPhone.

    New MS261

I guess I don't have as good of a grasp of chain pitch as I thought I did. Is .325 the more aggressive pitch?

    New MS261

I just though it pulled that 20" good. It looks like it really runs with a 16". I was thinking 16" for every day and the 20" for special occasions. Lol.

    New MS261

Ok. One has said stick with .325. Does everyone else feel that way? I was thinking it should pull 3/8 just fine with a 16" bar. Sorry for my ignorance. I have always just used what came on a saw.

    New MS261

Thanks guys. I will be clearing my down trees (about 10) and cutting firewood for myself and some for the in-laws. I will also use it at deer camp.

    New MS261

New here but I wanted to say hi. My house was destroyed by tornados here in Arkansas, but that is what insurance is for. I did get a new saw out of the deal. It came with a 20" bar and an RSC3 chain, .325 pitch. The dealer tried to convince me that a 20" is what I want. I was thinking 16" or 18"...
