    Chimney cleaning time

I did a 2 story 8"er last week. Installed in 2007. It had 3/4 inch of nasty that filled 1 3/4 5 gallon buckets and part of a vacuum. All new components and it is pretty hot most of the winter at -40.

Can I get a price check on my stump work? Am I charging enough?

If I just ground out the hole and large roots and leave, $125. If I had to till the area to the lawn area and it was rocky $260. If I have to break out a chainsaw it is an immediate $20 MINIMUM. If I have to remove the outer wheels or travel a long distance from the trailer it is another $20. If...

I grind stumps. My helmet is exactly like that and has saved me more than one black eye. Be sure to wear eye protection also.

    SC352 Wheel Bolt Problems

Drove 45 miles to do a sweet job. Needed to pull the duals off to get through a gate. Left side was slightly loose. Got it to turn 1/2 and then it stuck hard. Went to the shop and the mechanic tried a 1/2 air gun. It would turn 1/2 then stop. We reefed on it and of course it turned a couple...

    Quote or pass this job

It would take a pretty large excavator to lift those rootballs. Drop them a couple times to free the soil. Then 2 trips with a dump truck to haul them. They are 12-15 feet across and 3 feet thick. Current plan is to drop the grinder off, haul the limbs and slash to the dump. Cut the trunks with...

    Quote or pass this job

I looked at a job today. What a mess. 2 large cottonwoods that fell over last fall. They are both grown into the chain link fence badly. Huge rootballs. What would you quote something like this at?

    Pressure Washer Problem

Generac powered by 6 HP Briggs. G-23 2300 PSI Model 01674 Engine start and run smoothly. No leaks, hose doesn't collapse. When I hit the trigger I get nothing but hose pressure. These are not my expertise. A couple years ago I reached under and hit the governor...

    A short story of "this"....

I did some noodling a couple weeks ago. My 5T electric won't quite handle the big ones. New Husky 550 XP really throws the noodles.

    Skip chain

New 550XP, 20" skip chain. Converted to 3/8, LOVE IT! Had to noodle all the stuff too big for my 5T electric splitter.

How big of a saw for Alaska?

There isn't any permafrost in Anchorage. There are some very large cottonwoods that fall over when the wind blows. 80+ footers. I run a 28" bar for those. Actually I use the same saw for stumps as that is my main occupation. There are some HUGE cottonwoods in some areas. Birch to 30"...
