    Jonsered Chainsaws

True that.......amazing how the seller thinks a video which only shows that it runs and revs up will help sell a saw priced at that level.

Inherited my dad's Stihl 011- has been sitting for 5+ years = ??

It was sure great to finally hear the 011 start *and* run smoothly(again) this afternoon!! The kit in the carb, a new vent hose and new gasket under the carb.....I'm very happy that was all it needed and was not crank seals!! I know my dad would happy and proud that his son got the saw going...

Inherited my dad's Stihl 011- has been sitting for 5+ years = ??

Thanks for your directive. I installed the cellophane looking material(only piece in the kit that matched what came out of the carb) as the fuel pump diaphragm next to the carb body, gasket on top of the diaphragm and then the single screw cover. I had gotten the metering side in the wrong...

Inherited my dad's Stihl 011- has been sitting for 5+ years = ??

I'll probably do the same thing regarding the oil pump filter, just leave it alone!! Thanks for your info on the carb stuff. How does one know if the 'check valve failure' has happened....it just won't start/run or ?? I did get the K10-WAT kit installed, correctly I hope!?? The only diaphragm...

Inherited my dad's Stihl 011- has been sitting for 5+ years = ??

My friend is picking up a K10-WAT kit this afternoon which will save me a trip into town, so that's a good thing. The small shop that I have bought kits from before was out and had to re-order, however a place right down the road did for about 20% less. Thanks to Ray Benson I was able to start...

Inherited my dad's Stihl 011- has been sitting for 5+ years = ??

I finally got back to the garage, checked the carb for I.D. and found a match to what you had mentioned. I am curious as to what the 'K 8' is in the green square?? (picture is a thumbnail/click for full size)

Inherited my dad's Stihl 011- has been sitting for 5+ years = ??

@ray benson ; Thanks for getting the digital info to me, that will certainly help now and in the future as this is one saw I plan on having till I can't use a saw any more. My dad moved into town when he was 80 years old and didn't have a use for it after that. If I make it to 80 I'll be happy...

Thank-you, Ray, I got the ipl PDF ........however I didn't see a link for downloading the 16 meg service manual.....maybe you can try that one again!??? Thank-you, 'dougand3' for that kit number, I'll let you know.........I stopped by the shop that I get carb parts kits from and they said...

Inherited my dad's Stihl 011- has been sitting for 5+ years = ??

I am wondering how, per the link in the previous post, a reed fails?? I did pull the carb and the reed plate and the reed seems to still be springy and attached?? The one diaphragm gasket in the carb that has the two tabs that cover the individual ports for the sucking in and out of the fuel...

    Zama C2S on PM610

Thanks for sharing that info.........I'm sure it's only a matter of time that I'll be up against a similar issue with my PM610. So now it runs as well as it did before??

Stihl 011AVEQ Non-Op Issue Well this thread was what started my AS membership almost five years ago in 2011. According to Acres website this saw is a 011AVEQ, I had incorrectly titled the #9 thread above. Now I'm back to seek some more 011 advice. The above post, #09, should have been...

Husqvarna 350 comparison video with cut times!

This a great thread, thanks to the OP for all the effort/$$$ and time you put into it!! It was very interesting watch the videos and find out that the stocker with the MM was just not that far behind all the modded saws. Kinda makes me think that I'll not mess with the nice 350 that I got from...

    Stihl 028AV Woodboss

Welcome to now being a AS member and making your first post. I enjoyed hearing that you are a original owner of a Poulan 4000 bought back in 1985!! I got lucky and stumbled into a deal on a 4000 about 4-5 years ago when going out to look at a McCulloch Super 33. I wanted a saw like the one in...

Chainsaw usage in Rock & Roll music

I don't watch much TV so am not familiar with the show your referencing!?? Guess I'll have to go search out some U-tube videos...........maybe they threw a bunch of $$$$$$ his way to entice his participation. I bet the groupie factor isn't as good with this 'full throttle' gig vs. the R&R scene!??

Everyone remember their first post on the Chainsaw forum?

I know this is a response to a old/dormant thread, however I did find it interesting. I had just recently went back and reviewed the first thread I started as I'm going to be referencing it in a future thread. I found it interesting that my first thread on AS was also about a Stihl 011 that I...

Husquvarna 136 and 142 came my way this past weekend....worth putting time/$$ into??

I've been going back thru my threads on AS and finally getting around to thanking/'Like'-ing peoples responses that have contributed to my threads and updating or providing closure to various threads. In closure to this thread, as noted above, I decided to pass those Huskys on to my friend...

Chainsaw usage in Rock & Roll music

The video links seem to no longer click-able in the OP..........sooo I'm trying to update with these "new" links; 1st video; https://www.youtube.com/embed/A52p9jc-gOo I got a kick out of the end of the 2nd video where he cut the band name into the ceiling of the stage...
