    Stihl chain...

One thing you might already know is that as the bar gets hot, it expands. Experement with chain tension. If the motor seems to lug down after 10 minutes of cutting, loosen the chain a little to allow for the bar expansion.

Skidding logs with a Dodge Ram!

That's a lot of weight. And it takes a lot of torque to get the load moving.

Skidding logs with a Dodge Ram!

Is that loaded down with hardwood?? I've had 3500lbs in my '68 Chevy 3/4 ton a few times. Not that I really like doing that, but I've done it.

Skidding logs with a Dodge Ram!

No matter the maker, diesel power is definitely the way to go. You can get more bolt on power per dollar with a diesel engine than a gas engine any day. Duramax was built from the ground up. GM diesel engines used to be guttless but the Duramax mated with the Allison tranny is a totally...

Actually, around here, there are more Duramaxes on the road than Powerstrokes or Cummins IMO

    need original scrench

I just picked up one from one of our local dealers here. He had to order it. Funny, now that you mention it, it is chrome, not anodized. Not sure if it is OEM now.

How do I store my new saw?

Chainsaws are toys and toys should be played with regularly :hmm3grin2orange: I always start mine up once in a while and cut something just for fun so I can justify having it in my garage.:yoyo:

That's for UK. They don't list one on the US website. I wonder why, cause theirs a lot of 'em around.

    What's an 028 super worth?

I bought mine for about $220. It was dirty, need some an air filter, plug, some clutch work and a general tune-up when I got it. I bought it with a decent 20" bar and an abused Carlton chain. It has strong compression and is still a great saw.

Stihl Farm Boss 029 Chain Binding Problem

Well, the bars can get really packed with wood chips which can cause low oil distribution as well as nose binding if it is really plugged.

    Breakin' her in

The 028Super is a 51.5cc saw. The basic 028s are 47cc. So, the Super, if it is in good condition, should be a little more saw than the Dolmar. http://www.stihlmanuals.w1.com/stihl_ownersmanuals/STIHL028_with_safety_manual.pdf
