Post pictures of your woodpile/splitting area

I finally finished splitting and stacking the wood for my OWB. There's about 14 cords total. Sent from my SM-A516V using Tapatalk

    Used chainsaw pricing?

Yup, local craigslist has an 032 for $280, an MS-290 for $390 and the winner, an 029 for $420.

    Used chainsaw pricing?

Me too but I don't have storage space at my new house and have to thin the herd before I move.

    Favorite chainsaw

My favorite saws are my Sachs Dolmar 114 and 116si. If I'm cutting smaller wood it's the 114 and if I'm cutting bigger wood it the 116si. I also like my, believe it or not, Stihl MS-290. I modded the muffler on it and it cuts as good as the Dolly 116si. In stock form the MS-290 was a slug.

    18v vs petrol

I've got a 40 volt Kobalt and it's good for cutting small limbs but not good for harvesting firewood. Keep the petrol.

    Used chainsaw pricing?

I have other saws too but the two that I'm trying to put prices on are a Sachs Dolmar 114 with 18" bar and Sachs Dolmar 116si with 20" bar. Both saws look good and both saws run and cut good.

    Used chainsaw pricing?

I have a handful of chainsaws that I'm going to be selling soon and am wondering how do you figure out how much to sell one for? I've looked on craigslist and facebook marketplace and see prices all over the place for common saws. I don't want to ask too much and not be able to sell them but I...

I think that Mariner would look better with a Dolmar sticker on it! :D

    american log splitter

When I have done that in the past it has always turned out to be a waste of money. When I buy tools and equipment I find that it always better to spend the extra and buy the best. I don't like having to deal with stuff that breaks when I am trying to get something done.

    What's The Best OWB?

I bent mine. It wasn't easy but better than adding more joints that can leak and cause problems. The Thermo Pex is still $12 per foot? It was that price when I bought mine in 2007. Well worth the money. My SIL used some cheaper stuff and you can see where it is buried because the snow melts over...

    american log splitter

My American splitter is built a lot stronger than the $1000 ones at TSC and other places. I would buy the American and not look back. It will split 4 foot sticks like this with ease. I have only had to replace 1 hose on it and it is about 20 years old.

May 23 and I just lit the stove!

I run my OWB year round so all I have to do is turn up the thermostat if I want to take the chill off. I haven't had to do that for a while but this weekend looks like a possibility. We've got a lot of rain and clouds and stuff in the forecast with a high of 50* tomorrow. :msp_mad:

    What's The Best OWB?

Those are the reasons that I bought mine plus the biggest reason, I don't have to buy heating oil anymore. I don't exactly have a farm but I do tap maple trees and have 69 acres of land.

    Typical number of cords

About 20 cords for heat and hot water for 2 houses, about 4500 sq feet. I run my Central Classic 6048 year round and burn a mix of hard and soft wood.

    fs 90r weed trimmer

Before you buy anything make sure that the carb is actually adjustable. The one on my BR 600 blower isn't! The manual for my blower says that it will have a sticker near the adjustment screw holes if it is adjustable and no sticker if not. It may be the same for the trimmer.
