    Why do men like chainsaws?

They are radical machines!! What true Tim the tool man Taylor kind of guy doesn't like a loud screaming obnoxious chainsaw. I was told some chainsaws have more power to weight ratio than some race cars, that's pretty awesome in my opinion. They are tools in the end but it sure is fun tickleing a...

    chainsaw not cutting

The reason the bar needs flipped is because when your cutting wood the pressure from pushing down causes the "mushroom" effect on the bar rail. The chain wear plus pressure of the down cut. You'll notice the top of the bar won't be warn as bad as the bottom. You can easily notice this buy...

    Prepping a saw for sales.

I keep a spray bottle with dish soap water for cleaning saws and trimmers. After blasting with air first it cleans stuff up like new. Cheap and readily available.

    chainsaw not cutting

Hello and welcome to AS. The easy way to see if your bar needs attention, is take the chain off and lay it flat on a table. Put a straight edge flat on the side, if you can see daylight under the middle just file both ridges on both sides until good and flat. The ridges will make the saw stop in...

    Hi Y'all........Messed Up Anything Lately?

I did my first port work on a little pos feather lite weedeater. It was just lying around so I figured I'd do some tinkering. Everything was done about to go back together when I found out that those little rings aren't as flexible as they may seem. Oh well I'm glad I don't experiment with the...

    Stihl bg55 engine flooded

If I can smell gas strong I know it's flooded. First thing I do is turn choke off. Hold the throttle wide open and pull about ten times, let it sit for a couple seconds ( I don't know if this helps but it helps my arm). Keep choke off and keep throttle closed and pull a couple times if it...

    I love Flippy Caps

The reason i like the flippy caps is you never over tighten them. When your hard at it its easy to overtighten gas and oil caps to be sure they dont leak. Grrr!!

    I love Flippy Caps

Most of the time if a machine had a gas pump thingy majiggy I didn't know it. When I do know they have one I still don't use it, choke and start, keep it simple. Even not using the purge or primer bulb the engine always starts fairly quickly. I don't think they need to be on saws and I'm glad...

    FS45 trimmer problem, help!!

Have you tried a splash of mix down the carb yet. Everything sounds good. Might want to make sure the choke is closing all the way, this will hamper starts. Maybe try a different spark plug just to rule that out. Good luck. (:

    "Different" 2-cycle oil!

I've posted about the K575 husky concrete saw on here before. It gets a steady diet of all kinds of mix except the expensive stuff. I can't say how old it is but I do know its cut a lot of long long hot cuts. It was on its last leg and I put new air filters and a spark plug in it. The tune up...

    "Different" 2-cycle oil!

I've noticed that the stihl ultra has a cleaning ability for older used engines. I'm curious if the dirt bike oils also have this ability?

Welcome our new Klotz Sponsor - Klotzlubemn

I'm glad I read this thread I just picked up my first quart of klotz R50 today because I'm tired of trying to hunt down ultra. Tired of the price tag too, the quart of klotz will last me awhile. I filled one of those 2.6 oz mix jugs a little over the mark for one gallon close enough for 50:1 for...

    Ceiling fan and wood stove

My take on the ceiling fan physics are down and out. By running it down the warm air is forced out of the room through the other doorways. Another cool trick I have with forcing the heat out of is placing a fan on the outside of the doorway pointed down and in. It pushes cool air into the room...

Look What Was in The Fuel Tank!

A friend had a willdthing locked tighter than a hat band, told him id look at for him. Pulled the cylinder and found a screw with a square washer on it keeping the crank from turning. Put it back together and she started right up. How would that screw find its way into the crankcase?

    Little Poulan History

I work in the concrete world and I've seen my share of cut off saws and this one is by far the flashy est est!! Bright and shiny I'd hate to get it dirty. Everyone these days would laugh at you if you toted this up to the job sight but little would they know it would eat all day long, they...
