How to find honest firewood sellers??

Not too many guys around here stack the firewood they sell, myself included, but there are a few guys out there who like to work to hard:laugh:. Find one of those guys and after he stacks it give it a quick measure. If it dosent equal a cord, pay him the right percentage. Maybe mention that on...

How do you deliver 2, 3, 4 or more separate orders in one trip?

Trailer???? (like the 16Lx8Wx5H ones.....electric hydrolic dump...section it off, can carry 4 cords.) Sub out the delivers to someone with a pick up??? I mean really its all about how much you can haul, no special tricks....just cubic ft. I suppose if you live a ways outta town, and most...

    Rebuilt 357XP problems

Just read thru the thread, glad you got er running. 357 is an awsome saw. I have that and a 181se as well and they make the perfect combo. Im have an issue with the 181 at the moment but the 357 picks up the slack most of the time, sometimes cutting a round from both sides but it gets the job...

    splitting yellow pine rounds

Im not shure what yellow pine is, but around here we have jackpine aka lodgepole pine. It splits as nice as anything. Hand split a huge pine 37" with little more effort then i would have liked, but still do-able. Fiskars for the win. That just sounds like really wet wood to me, give it some...

    Loose Stacking-How much is lost?

I understand that unless it stacked and measured, one cannot be shure thats its exactly a cord. BUT im shure that there is a cu/ft number out there that should land me dam close to a cord of tossed wood. Something that both The customer and I will be happy with. I get that bringing rounds...

    Loose Stacking-How much is lost?

I realize it is an unreliable method of meausre...but its sorta what I gotta work with. I can right now step out my house at 7am and be back at home with a tossed load by 11am.....4 hr trips means I can do 2 a day no problem. I work alone and therefore stacking in the truck would take way to...

    Loose Stacking-How much is lost?

So my question is, when you loose stack(just tossed in) split firewood in the back of your truck, how much space is lost. Ive sold quite a bit of firewood, but had a customer call me back today few hrs after I dropped a load off for him and claimed I only delivered 97 cu/ft of wood. I guess he...

Looking to hire subcontractor to split firewood

thats some serious wood sales. Thought I was doin alright, ontrack to do about 100 cords this year. Good on ya man, but with sales like that, why not just buy your own equiptment. Investment back into the company is always a good thing.

How bad is this for you saw....
