Want to Buy Poulan 2300 clutch spring (old style)

Found a used early style clutch assy and drum off ebay for a reasonable price, and it'll allow me to have a couple of spare parts.

Need a Poulan 2300 clutch spring...

Thanks for the response. So I assume the garter spring style you're referring to is the one where the long spring wraps all the way around 360 and hooks back to itself…? I assume it'll work with the same clutch bell, so I'll hit up eBay to see what I can find.

Want to Buy Poulan 2300 clutch spring (old style)

Hello, ya'll. It's been awhile since I've been on here. I'm working on my neighbor's Poulan 2300 after it set for a number of years. I got most everything done except for a clutch spring that was missing upon arrival. It's the older style clutch with the 2 small springs as shown in the picture...

Setting metering lever on Zama C3M off an 044

Hello all, I rebuilt a Zama C3M carb off an 044 for my friend. When I went to set the metering lever height, I was planning on setting it about flush with the carb body like I'm used to doing. But according to Zama it is supposed to be .039"-.051" below the body. This is straight from Zama...

Best aftermarket air filters? Stihl and Husky pro saws

http://m.ebay.com/itm/191054868238?nav=SEARCH&sbk=1 A little under $30 shipped I also run the tan colored prefilter. Not sure on price, but if you don't have one its worth getting. Sorry, not really any help on the AM filters, though. But I personally don't like K&N. Sent from my C771 using...

    yamabond

I know this is kinda off subject, but has anybody ever thought of using Permatex Aviation form-a-gasket? It's some old school sticky brown goo in a white bottle with a brush top lid. I never really thought about it until I found a couple bottles in the shop from a while back. We used to use it...

    026 help...take two!

I've never used one of the Chicom replacement carbs, but others seem to have pretty good luck out of them. If you can't get the carb right, it might be worth a try. If for some reason you want to use a genuine Walbro carb, I used a WT-194 from this guy on a customer's saw and it worked great. I...

MS200T top end replacement with lots of pics

Don't know for sure, but I'll bet he left it off. Looks like I need to price that plastic "clamp" and replace it. For now, I put a small coating of high temp sealant on the boot before I put the clamp on.

MS200T top end replacement with lots of pics

Thanks. No, I just rebuilt the one that was on it and blocked off the accelerator pump circuit with JB Weld. A new carb was way too expensive.

MS200T top end replacement with lots of pics

Carb bolted on over gasket (notice JB Weld over accel pump circuit) Under pressure When I tried to pressure test it, I had major leaking where the intake boot went on the cylinder spigot, even with the plastic piece over the boot. Apparently, it doesn't seal very well. And the intake boot was...

MS200T top end replacement with lots of pics

Circlips installed Rings Rings compressed (this was before I decided to ditch the base gasket) Here's the anaerobic flange sealant I used (feedback from folks on interweb say it holds up well to fuel, but time will tell) Cylinder installed Looks nice ~.030 squish. Thought it...

    Ms200t--to base gasket or not...

From what I've found, a lot of people have used this CNH sealant, which is rebadged Loctite 515, on fuel system parts. It is not a silicone based product and I won't run ethanol fuel in any of my power equipment. But I guess only time will tell! Thanks for the advice.

    Ms200t--to base gasket or not...

I bought the saw running, but it turned out to have a toasted top end, badly scored. I press. tested it to 10 psi and after 10 min it lost about 1/2 psi. I vacuum tested it to 15 in/Hg and after 10 min it went down to about 14 in/Hg. I rotated the crank during each test. I mainly wanted to test...

    Ms200t--to base gasket or not...

Thanks for the quick replies. Yeah, I'm not quite ready to do port work, but I figured eliminating the gasket might pick up a little more power. Of course, not having a scored piston/cyl will help as much as anything. Big t--My username refers to my '72 Chevy C10 trail truck on 1-ton axles and...
