    Japanese tree trimming robot

Interesting prototype of a limbing robot. Far from perfected - of course all trees are not that straight. http://www.electronicproducts.com/Electromechanical_Components/Motors_and_Controllers/Image_s_of_the_day_Remote-controlled_tree_climbing_chainsaw-wielding_robot.aspx

    MS250 or MS261

Can you mount a 20" bar on a MS250?. Like others said- it will just slow it down. The 261 can drive it..if you need it. I used an older Stihl 025 three weeks ago clearing larger 20+ inch tornado stricken hardwoods ALL day long with a 16" bar and chisel tooth. Not as fast as our 441 but was a...

Mcmaster If you can measure the keyway slot width, you can probably locate one at McMaster-Carr or MSC Direct. They come in varying width, height and lengths and can be cut to length. May help?

Reattaching stickers or decals to recoil or brake covers

Clean with alcohol or a residue free cleaner. I like and use Permatex automotive spray adhesive or for stronger thicker adhesive use Super77. It will go a long way.

close but not close enough I work with mfg's in USA, China, Pakistan etc... even have a good quaility asian molder but in this case- China making Chinese OEM copy replacement parts is a long term way of them learning what goes into the whole tool. Help with Massively Stripped Threads

upsize the thread I'd either retap with a american SAE 12-24 which is slightly larger than M5. Otherwise the earlier m6 is good if you can go that much larger. Judging from the photo and the material the drill size is probably close to the stripped diameter? A metal filled epoxy...

What's the best glue for plastic?

Sawnamis suggestion toughened super glue is pretty good. You can get small tube quantities of industrial adhesives at McMaster Carr. Bonding a polypropylene or nylon molded part is possible. If you can spread the gap apart, apply adhesive so it can spring back and clamp itself. A photo...

how can i cut a RR tie with a chainsaw?

I imagine a semi chisel chain would best, like some said, nails, dirt, sand and rocks can be inside. Brush clean chain/bar and sprocket afterwards with Simple green or some degreaser, I'd be more worried bout the inhaled dust and hand skin burn. Use of eye protection, basic nuisance or N95...

Our UMCOR/ UNVIM Disaster Team has a number of current type heavy duty poly plastic fuel cans (2 and 5 gallons). We were debating Thursday about the DOT and NFSA regulations for transporting 2 stroke fuel by 12 foot closed trailer (or pickup trucks). While I have used steel safety cans for...

    Mag Depaint advice, pls

wrong paint If you have paint wrinkle after feathering- you are likely re-top coating with wrong paint type or top coating too thick on each coat. The paint solvent is melting the old paint down to metal. Is the spray can epoxy, lacquer or enamel. Cheaper paints use cheaper slow dry...

Best Chainsaw in the $300 catagory

While I am a Stihl user. The use of a Stihl "290" is heavy and not great power per pound. The MS250 or comparable- 40 cc Husky or Dolmar. lighter great power band and use for smaller cuts.
