Echo CS-590 Carb initial (factory) settings

to all, please accept my public apology for my arrogant behavior. was concerned for others equipment, when advice was given in respect to higher elevation saw use. some flat-landers may not understand these implications, and may burn their equipment up.

initial settings: (from lightly closed seated needle). idle jet: 3/4 high speed jet: 1&3/4......+/- 1/2 turn high speed needle on choke side ldle jet on motor side ....get it started on 3/4, then adjust idle speed throttle screw for steady idle. then adjust your high speed as needed. if it...

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

all good. here are some ways these zama electric screwdrivers work: (may not be what you think). there are many variations of the same theme. donut magnet on diaphragm or air bleed types. https://www.google.com/patents/US7264230 https://www.google.com/patents/US6581916...

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

base my opinions on reference material, all of it is not found here. right/wrong/whatever. references: eric gorr has good info on reading piston burn patterns using cht and egt temps; blair, reher-morrison, race car engineering on chamber/wet flow design characteristics; efficiency % was...

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

thread still seems to be revolving about tuning a motor to a specific brand of oil.........not my bag. getting a motor that is only about 20% thermally efficient at best, blowing raw fuel and oil mist out every stroke to optimize some ideal piston crown color or pattern is next to impossible...

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

.......simpler yet. no trigger. just skims a little bit off the coil each go round. may be better guess.

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

10-4. was thinking it was a fuel- injector- like solenoid deal. must use trigger pulse off the fly-wheel magnet.

Premix 101: Oils, Ratios, and Fuel

.........and the only reason i brought it up this morning, was so that walker would get a laugh. its only oil. mellow out man. meloooooooooooooooow.

Premix 101: Oils, Ratios, and Fuel

agree with brad, was good read and info. do like the jennings/jerry branch test better. first response of mine came with my first sip of coffee this am in regards to this: "A typical example: you go from a 50:1 ratio to a 20:1 ratio. Your engine will now run leaner, and you’ll have to make...

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

what does the solenoid in the elec carb do? wondering. a. when it's "on" restricts fuel flow b. when "on" allows more fuel to flow c. none of above d. thicken molecules

Premix 101: Oils, Ratios, and Fuel

bigger jets because oil molecules are thicker? wtf?

Premix 101: Oils, Ratios, and Fuel

..........so from what the expert says in post #3...........one cannot run a heavier oil mix ratio without increasing jet sizes? how does an elec carb saw motor compensate for this ?

    661 Oil Test 32:1 vs 40:1 vs 50:1 ?

Red..... for whatever its worth. First off, I did some temperature testing a couple of years ago, my end results were very similar to the results you have posted up within this thread. (my results are buried somewhere within another forum). At the time, was interested in the max temp in a box...

Makita taking over Dolmar brand in the USA

agree. of more interest are the bsfc (fuel consumption) numbers. not talking about the difference in a few tablespoons of fuel here. those specs can tell you other things related to the motor, such as power/torque/bmep curves and efficiency. i have interest in those. they are all just...

Makita taking over Dolmar brand in the USA

good catch niko! something WAS lost in the translation. i am not fluent in german, when i see an 'english' version of the report i use it. will default to using only the original german version for all future references.

Makita taking over Dolmar brand in the USA

....don't see this as being the case. (at least in the 'english language' report. reason being, that the fuel consumption figures for the 555, are different that the one's as listed for the 562. ....as said, kW difference really is insignificant, and does not show what is important anyway,

Makita taking over Dolmar brand in the USA

....thought the first link was just to the general saw specification page. second link clearly shows max kW of 562 being 3.1 kW do agree that being a 'german market' husq could be different, from what we have here. the range between peak Nm rpm to peak kW is a better indicator of what a saw...
