    Best replacement for a 272 ?

Thanks for the above. Is the autotune really just fire and go? I've been old school so far. Just tune them a little rich, for safety, and run em.

    Sold New Mastermind 372 OE

I went back and read the replies more carefully, also the photos. I see it is an XP, your post says not an Xtorq. What is the advantage there ? Is Xtorq the same as AutoTune ?

    Sold New Mastermind 372 OE

I'm interested but uninformed, please educate me. What is the advantage of an earlier generation, instead of an XP ? I'm somewhat informed on MM, just from the two forums. What about parts availability on the earlier generation? I'm seriously interested. Thanks

    Best replacement for a 272 ?

Finally getting around to replacing my favorite saw, a 272. It wasn't stock, performed great. I've been out of the loop for awhile, and may need some suggestions. Probably stick with a Husky. Is 372 best option, don't know much about the 572. I highly doubt my local dealer knows much about...

    Sold Jonsered Super 920

I don't ship a lot of stuff , but every time I have, there is no difference between UPS, USPS, Fedex. Ship sticks advertises 39.99, but they are full of it. 50-70$ just like everyone else.

T This is funny. Does the tree know which saw? Does it remain standing when cut is made by other than Stihl? Nice saw, GLWS

What oil ratio were you running when your saw blew up

Yes it was, lived for five years after build and was a really good running saw, very strong. On tear down, the P+ C were in excellent shape, except where that little piece of steel wire messed it up. This thread reminded me of what happened and the memory still stings. Yeah, I know, kinda silly...

What oil ratio were you running when your saw blew up

One of those curly ears broke off one of the wrist pin retainers. Had nothing to do with the oil. Kinda weird though.

What oil ratio were you running when your saw blew up

40:1 stihl brand oil out of the little containers at Fleet + Farm. They had just switched and become a Stihl dealer. I figured what could it matter? Saw did not last 5 minutes. :wtf::dumb2::dumb:

    inadvertantly poisoned my trees

I am not fully versed on it's effect on trees but Round Up has no residual activity. The trees survived the initial dose and will most likely grow out of it. As stated above, reducing any other stress factors will help a quicker recovery.

    uh oh

Sorry Jack, bad joke, in reference to another thread. There are 3 main causes for lean seize, but I am guessing you already know what they are. Have you had a chance to remove muffler and take a look?

    Bar repair/dealer rant

I don't like Walmart and don't buy **** there. Unless they are way out of line, I always buy at the local guy that has a service shop.

Traveling arborist looking for work in MN

Hey, welcome to the site and MN. I live in south central MN and we have several tree services that started up with the EAB problem. That is in addition to the established ones already here. I don't know what it's like in the rest of the state. What is your skill set? I know one of the local...

    372 with Cannon Bar

It seems like any of the old school bars with a belly, like a Cannon, would be better. I don't know if they would cut noticeably better, but I bet you would spend less time trying to adjust the sag out of the chain. Seems like as soon as I get rid of the sag, it's too tight, then I gotta fiddle...

True fuel premix- worth it or am I wasting money

As far as the canned fuel goes, I know nothing, never used any. 20$, 30$, 10$/gallon, I don't think so.

True fuel premix- worth it or am I wasting money

I use Sta-bil in everything, in the fall, if it's going to sit. Seafoam in everything, in the spring, if it has been sitting.
