    Lickety log splitter

Well then, if 220v is needed I guess I'll go with a gasser cuz sometimes I split in the field and thought I could use a genny those times but 220 is not doable without more $. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

    Lickety log splitter

The engine on it now I believe to be a 9 HP. I will have to do some research to figure out the electric motor requirements. Might be cheaper to go with the predator gasser a 13 HP can be had for under $400 and they run a bit quieter and cleaner than the old engines, just thought maybe someone...

    Lickety log splitter

I've got an old Lickety splitter and the Tecumseh engine on it is tired and cranky, thinking about putting a predator engine on it but was wondering if anyone has tried an electric motor on one of these units. Thinking it would be nice to get away from the noise and smell but not sure how well...

14-year-old NEEDS advice for reaching out to sell at local hardware stores

I say keep it small and sell only dry wood for the most your market will bear and buy a cheap lawnmower to mow for the people that will pay good money for good service. You don't need to do volume, just get paid well for your hard work and provide a good product, most decent people will support...

I had bad gas a few days ago after eating chili. My wife was not impressed and it made a mess of the undies but it to has passed.

Odd question... Where do loggers use the bathroom?

I do not log but first time I pooped in the woods was the morning after I drink heavy and slept the night in a tent on a mountain camping. Woke up hung over and had a pressing need to move my bowels. Managed to find a spot a few feet away with a fallen tree at the right height, sat and let it...

    Wood hauler build

Nice build and very clever. I'm guessing you load it up by hand? How many hours would you say went into the build? Top notch work.

    Cutting birch in Sweden

Looks like a very orderly work site. The house looks as it's from a story book I read as a child. No snow?

    Loading hardwood ends for delivery

Cousin of mine deals firewood and had two 1 ton dump truck loads of ends, knots and semi soft pieces that he offered to deliver to me for free. Without hesitation I of course said yes before he was through with the offer and he stressed some of it wouldn't be pretty, NO PROBLEM BRING IT! I will...

    Worst firewood you’ve ever burnt?

Willow because it stinks when burned and low heat output. I found black walnut to be super ashy.

    Log attachment for wheel loader

Thanks for the info but I missed the machine by a few days. Person that bought it was shipping it to South America according to the seller. Asking price was a grand and seller stated brake and steering work was needed but the machine was operable. Probably just as well, I have too many projects...

    Log attachment for wheel loader

I'm looking at a similar machine that is for sale in my neck of the woods, ad says it's a 63- 64 euclid with a jimmy diesel. Have you had luck finding parts for your machine like brakes and other non common replacement stuff? I'd like to avoid having to buy ransom priced repair parts for it if...

    Splitting pine..never again

Looks like some type of spruce. Those branches act like bolts going through the wood and as you know make it a bugger to split. My wanna try making some of those campfire wood candles out of them if you can get them good and dry. If you don't mind noodling that would work too.

    Deutz engines

Bought a well used trojan loader with a 5 cyl duetz that was running on four. Showed 32k hrs on meter? Tore apart top end and 1 piston was complete junk ring lands eroded and missing large chunks of rings. Other 3 cylinders were scored and wore out. Had 1 good piston /cylinder that had been...

Fix it, new engine, or junk it?

Depends on if you still need a truck....replacing it out rite is gonna be spendy... what's left of it now isn't worth much as is. Get it up and running again and use it awhile, (don't beat on it) and then sell or trade and you'll recoup SOME of the money. Modding a modern diesel to make more...

New (to me anyway) Montgomery Ward splitter

I had the exact same splitter a decade ago, briggs engine blew soon after buying it but replaced it with a harbor freight predator, repacked the cylinder following year and easily split 10 or so cord before selling it off for what I had invested in it. I kinda miss it but my back doesn't, just...

    Lickety Split Log Splitter Problem

After I replaced the cylinder o-rings on mine all I did was make sure there was enough oil in reservoir and cycled the ram a half dozen times with no load. The air should purge to the reservoir, just make sure the oil level is still full after cycling. I used caution when splitting the first few...
